hang on Ashton ... the lack of funding went back a couple of decades and more! in 1997 there were 198, 848 beds in the UK come 2010 the number was 158, 800 ! SINCE 2010 the number of beds has risen to 162,700 modern medicine and care etc meaning over past 10 -15 years has meant for shorter stays and greater volumn. But population has increased, and by an extra / from over 5 million migrants since 1997.

However population 1997 was 58m 2010 was 63m now is 68m so bear in mind [ a higher number % of non UK persons est at 6.6m since 1997 use hospitals it is by no means easy to say "if there wasn’t around 10k vacancies in the NHS due to 10 yrs of Tory underfunding" It started with Tony Bliar!!!!.....

    few notes......
births in 2010 [ England & Wales ] by mothers country of birth top 11 were:-
    UK ..... 539364 ..... POLAND 20495 ..... PAKISTAN ..... INDIA 14892 ..... BANGLADESH 8371 .....
    NIGERIA 7476 SOMALI 5654 ..... GERMANY 5108 ..... South AFRICA 4430 ..... LITHUANIA 3788 ..... CHINA 3611
There were 10 more countries over 2500 and a further 62344 births non UK mother... total .. 726622 non UK = 25.8%

    2020 434,020 born to UK born mothers & 179,881 to non UK ... total ...........613901 non UK = 29.31% ........ top 10 were PAKISTAN ..... ROMANIA from 14th ..... POLAND ..... INDIA ....
    BANGLADESH ..... NIGERIA ..... SOMALIA ..... AFGHANISTAN from 11th ..... GHANA from 12th ..... GERMANY .........

I have been to that fantastic hospital GOSH loads of times usually around 8pm ish and visitors are leaving ... I would say, without malice 70 - 75% were non white, from Asia or Africa. unfortunately they do seem to be more prone to serious malfunctions of the body? It is amazing how many peeps from Asia and Africa make such good health staff ...Doctors nurses etc ..

What a wake up call this morning, 2 more parties at Downing st ( Boris was apparently away at Chequers), Royal family have demoted Andrew of all honours, Kier Starmer photographed having a party with local staff last May up in Durham then demanding Boris should resign for doing the same (What a hypocrite) and now a Chinese spy has been operating in parliament for 7 years, her son works for former Labour shadow cabinet minister Barry Gardiner in his office and then accepting a Chinese Communist party gift of £650k for funding via the spy.

British Political class all have their snouts in the trough.

And she worked very closely with Cameron too - who presented her with an award. She likes Tories as well as Labour people!!

Thanks for pointing that out but I did say the spy was operating in parliament for 7 years (No bias there), the fact her son worked for a Labour MP and the fact that the £650k Communist party money was paid through her to the Labour MP demonstrates the motives.

It's very unusual for a spy to be unmasked so publicly - I was listening to the news last night but didn't catch what had actually happened to her - has she been arrested/interrogated/deported?

Just out of interest I just spotted this on the BBC site..
'' Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey also received a £5,000 donation when he was energy secretary - but he said the money was accepted by his local association and it was "the first time he has been given cause to be concerned".

So what's new?......A member of parliament having different rules than the rest of us...it's the norm isn't it? I'm not shocked or surprised whatsoever.

What! , surely you aren’t suggesting Kier should be accused before a full enquiry into the circumstances or he has the right to defend himself, or do I detect double standards at play here?

My point was Wiz wouldn’t accuse Boris until the result of the enquiry yet he did with Kier, just pointing out a certain amount of hypocrisy.

I don’t know enough about the Kier incident to comment this is the first I’ve heard of it. Boris was caught red handed and admitted it.

His problem is he should apologise and offer his resignation forthwith, according to ... Ms Raynor, who already has her speech prepared " we would like to thank Keir for his relentless bashing of Boris, te free drinks and party snacks, and I intend to do a better job, and be less foul with my comments regarding the opposition until I win the next election......

She’s right though he should, if Kier is found to have broken the rules he should too. Simple

anything that happened before May 13th was not in the spirit of the country in lockdown... afterwards depending on circumstance it needs scrutiny, I went for a walk with a mate .. had a couple bottles of beer .... the rule was meet 1 on 1 outdoors observe 2m spacing /masks. Where we stopped to imbibe of our ales [ uphill ] there were other pairs / groups of 2 with 2 [ couples meeting couple? ] we had it drummed in "bubbles". WERE we wrong? or right!

The question is surely were any of them aware of she was a spy, I assume not in which case what’s the problem, if they were aware that’s a completely different matter.
