I think it’s Covid related I’m not sure
But I think there will use that excuse
I think they will say we had to postpone there games and it was not there fault ?????

If the players infected aren't vaccinated, arguably it is their fault. ( playing devils advocate, no wish to spark a vaccination choice debate !)

By extending it still dosnt mean that the outstanding games can be completed in there asked time limit
There could be more cases of Covid in the teams there playing
And what about the teams that have played games with a depleted squad

Yip its us that upheld the integrity by playing with a depleted squad. **** em.

I’ve had a feeling for a while that this would become a possibility. Since when did the efl get a sense of justice? Level playing field? What’s that? It’s the way things seem to happen for Sunderland f.c. Am I paranoid? It’s supporting this club and the decisions of the efl that’s done it. After last season I’ll never again be surprised by their decisions. We can only hope that they do the right thing, this time.

I’d be amazed if they do, where would the time come from ? They’ll maybe have a week extra which won’t make much difference.

I don't know the stats so maybe someone can help.
How many games called off through covid were called off by Wigan and how many by the opposition.

There are 4 games being played in midweek in League One. Given that Wigan have played 4 games less than most, why are they not playing until Saturday. They can't bleat about fixture congestion if they are not prepared to tackle the problem at the earliest opportunity.

Hoping to get new players in or injured back? You’d think they’d take every opportunity to close the games gap.

The play off finals must be pre booked at Wembley. Doubt they would change the dates because one club has a huff on.
The League One Final will start proceedings on Saturday 21st May 2022, before League Two and the Championship take centre stage the following weekend on Saturday 28th May and Sunday 29th May 2022,
respectively.

I was thinking about this when the thread first started. I wondered how far in advance Wembley needed to be sorted and if that would prevent them changing anything even if they wanted to.

If the rules around postponing games weren’t so vague teams wouldn’t be in this mess.

Clubs are obviously taking advantage of it, everyone can see that. Rules should be tightened up now to prevent it getting any worse with fixture pileup. But that won’t happen obviously…

If the EFL did agree to say, extending by two weeks, surely that would have to be for all teams so that the last games all play on the same day. ( That could be a help to the other teams who will have more rest time between their remaining games.) Surely they wouldn't let Wigan play on after all but their opponents were finished, they would probably be playing mid table or relegated teams who will have minds on holidays and will show little interest in competing
