Thought Bagan did ok today coming back in. Poor delivery too often but generally better than his previous "recent" outings.

Actually didn't think Vaulks was too bad, but would much rather Ralls and Sang in there (good to see Sang back in contention).

Harris very bright when he came on, as was Kieron Evans too.
Davies and Colwill had decent showings and Mozza was back at the level we are used to.

Though Collins didn't influence the game enough really and Browne was a bit ragged at times.

I'd say a "functional" but just about deserved win.

Would rather have had Kidderminster rather than Liverpool in the draw as prefer playing "real" clubs than plastic, product led moneybags, selfish teams but hey ho, let's hope for revenge for the 2012 league cup final eh?

Well finished goal by Harris, however his haircut reminds me of Doris’s pubic area for some reason! :emoticon-0103-cool:

Collins could easily have messed up the second goal.

Has he ever really played football?

Vaulks just doesn’t do anything other than irritate the referee;he cannot be offered a new contract.
Brown shouldn’t play unless absolute down to the bare bones.
Morrison was assured but he was saved by a few offside decisions. His lack of pace is a problem - Liverpool will just run past him.
Collins was abysmal today.
Like to see Sang get some game time in CM ahead of the usual suspects.

ps How poor was Phillips’ distribution today - he though had nowt to do as PNE scores from their only effort on target.

Can anyone tell me exactly what Collins' job is on the pitch?

Other than being a "good team player" whatever that means, I really fail to see what he contributes to our game. He has no pace, can't shoot, and resorts to running around the pitch putting himself about apparently looking for the meaning of life.

He's a typical McCarthy style grafter and popular with his team mates. Nice enough guy who'll slog away to help keep us up, but that's about it.

Some of his challenges yesterday were clumsy at best, pre-meditated fouls at worse. Most in non-dangerous parts of the pitch. Hopefully Watters will show a bit more when he's fit to play.

And nearly stopped Harris getting the winner yesterday. Collins probably thinks it was an assist. <doh>

To be fair to Collins there are others who are worse than him hence our league position.

Hopefully we dont go down.

Then a major clear out.

Ralls should get a new deal. Smithies will no doubt get a better offer elsewhere the rest id release unless Morrison can get back to his near best.

Unbelievably weve got another season of Bacuna on stupid wages.

Vaulks is worse than Collins by a long chalk.

As for Bacuna it still staggers me that Warnock gave him such a long contract.

Collins is only marginally better than Madine and Niasse - and the you need a microscope to see the difference. Sparkey summed him up well earlier.

All effort but little skill and end product. We knew this having had him play against us many times over the years.

If Bournemouth sign Moore they can have Collins as a bogof.

Collins and Bacuna are completely different - and probably as bad as one another for different reasons.

Collins is a straightforward team player and all effort, but other than that, it's difficult to see what he brings to the party. Bacuna is an oddball. A complete enigma of a player with some genuine skills but lazy and with a hopeless attitude on the pitch.

Whose worse? It's a toss up, but neither will take City forward toward becoming a top Championship side competing for honours. It's probaly fair to say that Collins will bust a gut to keep us up, whereas Bacuna couldn't care less.

Collins might bust a gut but I wouldn't expect him to succeed.

Not sure why this debate is on this thread but whatever IMO Vaulks wins the least effective and thereby worst player award hands down.

The initial debate is on this Matchday thread because of the inneffectiveness of Collins in this game. It was moved on by references to Vaulks and then Bacuna (who wasn't even playing in this game) being given such a long contract by Warnock.

I wonder who posted that..........<whistle>
