Just finished Dopesick, was alright. The Pharmacist is better if you are interested in the opioid stuff in America

    Ghostbusters Afterlife

Surprisingly good. Goes back to the original story. Complete change in direction from the other sequels, especially the ****e they made a few years ago with Melinda McCarthy.

Very enjoyable, lots of nostalgia thrown in, decent story that'll appeal to fans of the original, one of the kids from Stranger Things to appeal to younger fans... and Venkman's still a funny bastard <whistle>

No but it has Ron Perlman shooting a semi automatic at an asteroid.

Great film. Equal parts funny and a depressing but urgently necessary commentary on where the West is right now, particularly democracy in America (although this country isn't far behind).

Not just democracy but society in general, especially that which is driven by social media. From the idiotic and superficial, to the notion that the irrational overrides clear and obvious scientific fact.

It's a modern day equivalent to Dr Strangelove. As good imo.

I showed the kids A Few Good Men a while back and we got talking about the best courtroom films.

I just switched on Philadelphia and totally forgot about it at the time <doh>

First serious role for Hanks iirc. Denzil at his finest again btw.

12 Angry Men is the classic. My Cousin Vinny is supposed to be the most accurate, bizarrely.

I do love a good courtroom movie.

Post up some recommendations for me.

Ill say the exorcism of Emily Rose is a good one. Although it's light on the actual courtroom stuff it's about the trial of a priest so counts and I can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

12 Angry Men aint really a courtroom but it still counts imo bcos it's just about the best goddamn court movie there is imo.

A few others off the top of my head:

    To Kill A Mockingbird
A Time To Kill (no not the new Bond film ffs)
    Witness for the Prosecution
    My Cousin Vinny
    The Accused
The Verdict <--- Paul Newman classic very good.

Shown the kids 4 of those after a Few Good Men <laugh>

Agreed mate. Fcking brutal. I've seen it once and will never watch it again.

I think she won an academy award for that.
