Why take that out on the average Scottish person, though?

Not every Scottish person hates English people. By your reckoning there's probably a black person in the world that hates white people so it's OK for white people to be against black people. None of that is OK.

My girlfriend is Scottish. She wants independence. She won't vote for Krankie or SNP, though. There's ****s on here saying she's not welcome in the country.

I've read on here recently that women should take responsibility for being raped. People are influenced by the TV into transitioning and now more racist ****e. Its always the older folk on here and nobody says a word or challenges them on it.

**** them <ok>
I agree with what you're saying here, it's not ok for anyone to hate someone else "just because".

That being said, there are plenty of people who have suffered prejudice from a minority and as far as i'm concerned they are therefore entitled to have their own views and opinions.

For example, if it's ok for a person of an indeterminent hue to be offended by something that happened hundreds of years ago then is it ok for a person of a lighter indeterminent hue to be offended by something that has happened to them personally?

What we seem to see in society in general nowadays is that the minority now have the larger voice and shout the loudest which has been enabled by social media and the follow on publicity which they subsequently get. This unfortunately can give the appearance of a majority view.

That bit about the girlfriend is a scot whom wants independence, but lives in England. talk about having your cake and eating it.
You have just made that up.

No surprise coming from you.

It would almost be worth it to see those arguing against Brexit using the other side of the argument to argue for Scottish independence. The plan to hop immediately into bed with the EU indicates they just want a different person to pay their way for them. The political point scored would sharp wear thin when they're badgering Brussels for billions every year and blaming them for all their self inflicted ills.
Scotland is its own country in all but name anyway. It gets to keep it's own cultural identity.
If it ever happens they’d better take a good look at what the EU did to Greece when their economy did a dive.

I have heart trouble. Now, every time it goes off on one I’ll remember Arnhem Bridge and imagine him hoping I’ll die. All that Xmas and new year bonhommie did not last long. Seems that some people should stay away from social media when they’ve had a drink.

I’d prefer the UK or at least Britain stayed as one. It would be financial suicide for the smaller countries if the broke away.(admittedly I know nowt about state finances). We’d have to hit them like the EU hit us, no looking after them. And as for the hatred I always think of the armed forces and brave lads and lasses that have looked after us for centuries working side by side, Disagreements are fine but I don’t understand the hatred.
I think any hatred is born from the ignorant t*ats down south who think the north ends at Manchester. We up here resent the way we get ignored; think how the Scot’s must perceive that they are ignored, being even further from Whitehall. In reality they may get more per head from the public purse than we do. Perhaps someone on here knows the figures?

100% wrong.

Since the rest of the UK Taxpayers are subsidising Scotland to some degree to support their more generous social programmes, the young lady has, it seems, has chosen to ignore the financial advatages of being resident North of the Border, and chosen instead to pay her way in England.
So she is doing us all a favour in her own small way.

But as has been pointed out, the original post didn't say just where the young lady resides.
My post though can be read as thanking any and all Scot who work in England and are thus supporting the economy here.

That is true about where the lady resides. But the gentleman said some _____ on her say she is not welcome in the country. As he is talking of a sunderland forum I assume he is talking of England.

Horrible individual to want somebody dead ..on ignore and reported .
Good luck with that, if I was to be banned a fair few from here would be going down with me for their comments <ok>

Nice! Very nice! What a wonderful human being you must be.
Like I've already stated and stand by. If people on here are happy to turn blind eyes and not pull up other comments which should be pulled up then I take no notice with the faux outrage about my comments. That also applies to you.

<laugh>

I rarely drink. Certainly haven't had a drink over the Christmas.
