Listening to the commentator, talking about Burnley earlier, saying that they have 10 players out of contract in the summer. Looks like they are running the risk of losing a lot of players for nowt, and preparing for a season in the championship without having a squad of players on Premier League contracts.
I wondered if Odegaard trod on Ederson first? I don't think so - I think it was the ground he planted his foot down on, rather than Ederson. But I wasn't 100%. But if it was the ground, then what immediately follows means it absolutely should have been a penalty for me.
Think he just about got away with it. If the ref had given it, VAR wouldn’t have overturned it, I reckon
Arsenal are a team you do not want to play at the moment. They're certainly not "bang average" as someone described them after they beat us.
Arsenal deserve to be ahead. Moving the ball well, really troubling the city defence and protecting their own 18 yard box with relative ease. Not taking anything away from Arsenal, but City, going forward, aren’t at their usual fluent best. Penalty? I was looking closely at Odegaard’s foot placement and thought there was a element of him looking for a contact, so I am happy that the penalty wasn’t given.
