My mum grew up in a town between Blackburn and Burnley ... loads of locals would go to whoever was at home ... then Accrington Stanley hit financial trouble and asked their neighbours for help ... Burnley said yes but Blackburn refused and Stanley were down and out ... that saw the end of the home alternating and was the catalyst for the hatred that endures today between Burnley and Rovers fans ...
Yeah it was weird hearing those old stories, because when I first started going the rivalry between Arsenal and Spurs fans was intense, probably more so than it is today. So the idea of rocking up at White Hart Lane as easily as you would at Highbury just seemed alien to me. But thinking about it from those old boys' perspectives, back in the 40's and 50's it makes sense, you'd just go and watch some footie, whichever was available on the day.
Just a reminder of the amazon games today... Tuesday 28th December 2021 15:00 Crystal Palace v Norwich City Premier League Amazon Prime Video 15:00 Southampton v Tottenham Hotspur Premier League Amazon Prime Video 15:00 Watford v West Ham United Premier League Amazon Prime Video 20:00 Leicester City v Liverpool Premier League
I'll probably watch Palace, quite enjoy watching them, not that it will appeal to many on here i doubt. Most will probably go for the Saints v Spurs match.
Tempted by Soton as they’re just the kind of side to upset what looks like a completely different Spurs under Conte. Not sure Norwich will give the Eagles a decent game tbh - cue a 5-4 classic ffs.
Tbf he is a quality player just Going through a rough patch I reckon I haven’t got a clue what’s going on at OT It weird Their squad is excellent No way fair to judge Ralf yet, personally I am worried about the new guy as he is saying all the right things CL dark horses for me
Going for Watford v West Ham purely based upon the Hornets league position. It's 18 days since their last game and only 48 hours for the Hammers so difficult to call as well.
