The sad thing is they are not even close to being the best in the world. Bizarrely New Zealand who used to be cannon fodder are along with india.

England needs a new attitude to test level or at the minimum protect the base level of games and change the attitude to pitch preparation so that they have to really work harder for it.

England got rid of Labusch and Smith early but just couldn't maintain that momentum.

That's the difference between these teams, the Aussies are on it most of the time.......and England ain't

Stokes gone, leaves Bairstow and Root.

Lose either of those two and England will probably lose by an innings.

Either way Australia are virtual home and dry in this match

They should be utterly ashamed of themselves, it's beyond awful, i doubt they'll even get what they need to make Australia bat again at this rate. Fair play to the Aussies though

Australia only needed 254 runs to win, which isn't even an impressive score. They even had 14 runs in reserve.

England players should go out and stand next to someone with covid, that way they might get the last two tests cancelled and avoid any further humilliation

    No.

Clearly not as youd miss a.few.games later than this.

Big talkers root and stokes. 81.mins to lose 6 wickets is heads down, bums in the air stuff.

Curiosity, never been in this thread and then saw all the cricket talk, so thought it was best I shared my important opinion.

The best thing crawley could have done for himself was to stay away from this **** show. As it stands now I expect sibley will be turned to like some sort of saviour or something.

The management need to decide what they want now. Do they want sloggers like buttler and Lawrence who beat up on bowlers forced to bowl in a slot to them like a machine or do they want proper batsmen?

They've missed the boat with the ipl. Theres no way they can produce a cash cow limited overs game here no matter who they try.

Imo it's high time the straight jacket was removed from bowling in limited overs we have bred a generation of half paced crap bowlers who can just hit a line and slow the ball down a bit and not much else.

    We've backed no spinners really

Worse still I cannot recall a top order batsman who can get hit bat ****ing straight to even defend!

Problem with Sibley is while he would probably help England reach day 5, he wouldn't help with the score.

Guy can be out in the middle for days and still only score 20something.
He's not test standard either as doesn't score any runs.

England are ****ed for now. Going to take some years before they can see any improvement, and that's if they do it right and change domestic game.
