Barca agree 55m deal for Torres. Random one that. Actually thought looked decent at City, could turn into quality player. Nice profit for city though, double your money in 18 months on a player that’s been injured quite a bit.

Is that confirmed on the city side?

Quite how a bankrupt club can pay 55mil for anyone is beyond me. They still have to fire sale many players to balance the books.

Breaking news on sky sports. Says Barca have been given investment via a bank loan. So just pile a bit more debt on their current debts

Not yet, but he's expected to go.

Agree with Bisc. on Torres, I think he looks decent and will score goals.

Maybe Citeh are trying to level up FFP rules and regs. :emoticon-0136-giggl

Barca have taken a loan out to pay for him but will need to sell

He has a choice

A. Play for villa (ruin your career)
B. Pretend real madrid want you
C. Knuckle down and earn a spot at anfield.
Joe Gomez: Real Madrid monitoring Liverpool and England defender
Real Madrid are monitoring Liverpool and England defender Joe Gomez.

The 24-year-old missed most of last season with a knee injury and has been hindered this term by calf and groin issues.

Real feel there is a chance Gomez could leave Anfield at the end of the season as the arrival of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig has increased competition in the centre of the Reds' defence.

Gomez still has three-and-a-half years left on his contract.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp chose Konate and Joel Matip as his centre-back pairing in the absence of Virgil van Dijk during the 2-2 draw with Tottenham on Sunday, with Gomez only being introduced as a last-minute substitute.

Real are known to be looking at central defenders - even though it is widely anticipated their main target is PSG striker Kylian Mbappe - but understand there is no hope of signing Gomez in the January transfer window.

When city **** off torres they are really down to 3 forwards in mahrez sterling and jesus so foden and silva will have to cover.

If city dont buy I will be surprised.

I can see them having an issue later in season if they dont splash 100mil for he who cannt be sent off.

And if they do I can see them having a big issue with a half fit crock with a weight tissue

I would be genuinely amazed if City go back for Kane at the price quoted because (only in my opinion) i don't think he would be a success in their system/style.
They are not (and even with Aguero never have been) set up with a focal point of attack, they have very fluid attack that gives many options for the final strike and Aguero fit this because of his movement, i would think someone like your old boy Suarez would suit them much better.

Then again, Pep is THE top manager so obviously see's a lot in players i never will.

Agree on kane. It would be stupid of them but they seem to have an English fetish as 100mil for grealish is inexplicable any other way.

Grealish has worked out as expect. Offers little to city style and sterling is back in while the indiscipline has been evident.

Yes a suarez or any such player would suit him.

I just think when the games start flying they are going to be short of options up top and will be 4-6-0 spain style so they need to figure if they have enough midfielders ;)

I agree, Kane won't suit their system, wouldn't suit our system either.

I think they are nailed on for Haaland sadly

City would be silly not to go for Haaland if given the option. Initial fee will be lower although the agent fee and wages will be higher but no doubt city will do some dodgy accounting to make that disappear off the books <whistle>

Think he’d fit their system better as although he is a big focal point so something different, Pep clearly wanted Kane so is happy with type but Haaland is also far more mobile. I can’t say seen loads so don’t know if he drifts wide or if he stays central but guys quality and will no doubt adjust to peps tactics perfectly fine if he was to join.

All applied in the summer too but they chased him for months.

There are others that would be much better imo so I'd be happy for them to sign Kane!

Salah's amazing condition before he signs a new contract. Negotiations has been going on for some time. Salah insists as part of the deal, that Liverpool must sign a 'new' forward. Strange, very strange<laugh>.

Doubt that's true but if it is, we should be looking to sell him asap. Can't have players dictating to the club.
