i've seen 2 for the new one but who knows which one you have . Getting hold of LFT isn't that easy atm particularly since the reduced isolation rules were announced .

I kind of have given up on lateral flow as people put too much store in them and act like it's free for all after one.

Telegraph reporting that after weeks of relentless growth, the first signs of a slowdown have started to appear with some experts saying that England has likely already peaked.

i take any good news from the Telegraph with a pinch of salt as it has been always on the side of "just carry on as normal" throughout this .
I still get the Telegraph quite often as it comes free with my Waitrose deliveries - well i could choose the Daily Mail but :emoticon-0119-puke:

The Telegraph is fairly straight forward with its views which are mainly to do with business and a weird virw of "British" and has not to my knowledge run what amounted to a hate campaign against disabled people unlike the Mail .

PS the letters page in the Telegraph is a thing of pure entertainment and during Brexit i almost croaked a couple of times due to reading it while eating my breakfast .

Making a lot of money for someone.

Under perfect conditions, with the test done "right" , someone who is asymptomatic has virtually a coin toss whether it returns the result.

This is why it's so bloody dangerous. That person goes and acts like they dont have it but they do.

Even when someone has symptoms its 75% rate of right result so again a symptomatic person might go round infecting people thinking it's not covid.

It's how people treat them as they only give a result for right then and there and only an indicator. They certainly are not care blanche prior to a party to go jump all over each other and that's the big issue.

if you are infectious , and properly follow the instructions , they will come back with a positive result most of the time and their efficiency is linked to the persons infectious rate

    75% of the time.

If you are symptomatic it's better to assume covid and isolate and get pcr.

If you are asymptomatic you should act like you might have it and follow 2m distancing, masks indoor and so forth and so on.

My point was more aimed at MITO saying they're "like flipping a coin" (generally she with this though). Regardless of if it's positive or negative, it could be the opposite.

no if it says its positive it is almost always right but advised to take a PCR test to confirm . Some of the problems are people not using them properly plus deliberately not using them properly .

See Israel are planning to offer a fourth vaccination, not sure how it differs. If they offer that here I honestly I think I'm done now and will take my chances with three

Nah it's actually 75% if symptomatic. Pcr is a must as well.
    When asymptomatic its 50%.

Add in people dont stick them half far enough and frankly don't blow their nose etc

I think they are at the point where they started early and rushed though so it waned but the 4th is just doing it to do it with little data as to why.

Surely they would be better waiting for Pfizer new one in march?

    It wont be.

The spanish flu ran its sort of course and is still going now h1n1..... it killed 50million in 1918 period.

The issue with corona is its infectious before symptoms so we are not seeing a "flu season"

There comes a point where the callous shrug will occur (boris has tried twice) and 20,000 per year will die of corona sans restrictions and itll be up to you what to do.

Meanwhile companies will continue to make profit on whatever gadgets are required like antigen tests and masks and the governments will ot pay for the jabs
