    Just did two dishes.

Rib steak (massive on the bone rib steak) cooked casserole of onion sweated and added plain flour before throwing in a can of beer to reduce. Put the lot in a heavy casserole dish with beef stock and treacle.

Cooked 2 hours till meat falling off bone. Comes out like an sweet sticky onion gravy.

Serves on bed of creamed mashed potatoes.

Dessert was a classic german dish. Dampknudle, a sweet dumpling served with vanilla creme anglais.

It's a flour, sugar and egg dumpling made with yeast and left to prove for an hour.

You then poach in a milk and sugar mix in a pan for 25 mins.

The creme anglais is 4 egg yolks, sugar, milk and vanilla beans cooked slowly for 20mins beside the dumplings.

    So sweet.

So that's us done for about 2 or 3 days cos **** me that's filling.

Desert sounds interesting. I’m not a baker, leave that to the mrs. She’s preparing everything tomorrow to get all the Xmas deserts done.

No classical Xmas ones, but brownies, lemon drizzle, some pastries with chocolate etc

Sweet dumplings are easy enough but **** me they are filling.

They soaked up the custard a treat.

    Made some fajitas.

chicken thigh, chorizo, green pepper and mushroom.

Few herbs and some bbq seasoning. Nice easy dinner before we go and watch Spider-Man.

I fancy some chicken tonight, particularly some that's been cooked using eleven herbs & spices...

Just had a large egg, bacon & sausage cop followed by a large chocolate cookie. All in preparation for tonight; at the pub with one half of the family (parents split years ago) for Christmas dinner. Mrs (nm) is at though so can't "let my hair down"

I like curry but it's not my favourite by a long way. I'm old so I tend to go traditional.
