The problem is Windsor, is that it is affecting peoples lives. That Uni Teacher is a good example.
Stop dissagreeing for the sake of it.

 

Yeah you can’t even be proud to be a straight white man these days without being arrested or something.

 

Terms do affect people's lives. Many were brought up to call folks coming into the country "coloured". Then that was banned, and anyone accidentally using it was called racist. People then used "ethnic minorities" but that was banned, and if you missed it, you were called racist. The woke term BAME has now gone, though I cannot tell you whether it was because it was too woke or not woke enough. How long before using "people of colour" becomes a hate crime?

 

When I was growing up the school told us to call black people 'coloured', then they changed it.

 

As I said mate you are just disagreeing for the sake of it. You don't need to try and impress us.

 

If you called a black person, "black" in those years, you were called racist. It would be great if the authorities could just settle on agreed terms

 

Language evolves. Maybe it would be healthier just to get over it.

 

It evolves over centuries. These terms seem to be changed every three or four years. How long has BAME been around? Not long.
