they are happy to tell the world they are the richest club in it (the world).
we all know rich = inflated transfer fees and wage/personal terms + agents cuts/fees/persuaders which adds up, in many cases (if not most) to anyone willing to take the money rather than anyone that fits into a team...thinking players will sign because they 'want to' is as deluded as it gets, every single player approached is going to have to do some soul searching and decide whether the money alone is enough or if they should make a stand and these days if they do not make a stand they WILL be shouted out as nothing but hypocrites, mercenaries and those with little to no morals will not have a problem of course.
there is the added problem that the current 'big six' and the television rights holders do not want more clubs to share the wealth and the market, once that market begins to dilute then the wealth follows and none want that to happen, this could cause further problems when looking for players to sign...there is the thought that it makes no difference because they 'are so rich it wont matter to them' but there is also the thought it could work massively against them, rather than the players they would want they could end up with the only ones that would go there...then eddie howe has to somehow make them into a team.
honestly not looking through red and white specs here, the above are very real problems that they could face...the other side has to be looked at as well of course and players may indeed want to be part of it and they may well go on and become a team but so many things are stacked against them right now it does not look likely.
The Saudi state seem to be using their 'financial muscle' to boost their image around the world ...
... wouldn't it be cheaper and more effective just to stop murdering people, just a thought.
"The Saudi International was previously on the European Tour but is now the flagship event on the Asian Tour, which is also launching 10 new events spearheaded by the former world number one Greg Norman and backed by $200m from the Saudi government’s Private Investment Fund. The DP World Tour declined to comment on the issue."
