As for the law, you need to read what Solid said.

Having read that i thought i should actually check the law since i was just assuming who would be covered.
oops Lifeboat crews are covered by the obstruction legislation :emoticon-0111-blush

At least you checked mate. <ok>

I've edited my previous post accordingly.

Creating a them and us argument, helps no one. I was putting it into perspective. You don't live in London for a reason, so your point is slightly skewed, shouting from afar. You are like everyone else in reality, not on my doorstep, which is why Kent has had to put out appeals three times.

I agree this shhite needs to be sorted though, especially with the mass of land available for low cost housing in your neck of the woods. We could fit 23k refugees in quite snuggly over there.

It doesn’t actually make any difference where I live tbh. I’ve lived in cities with large numbers of immigrants and I’ve lived in the sticks, my views are the same regardless

But like I say, more councils need to do more to help out. Cornwall needs to sort out its housing problem for sure. There are loads of local families who can’t afford housing and not enough social housing either. I think they also need to help out housing refugees, but I wonder how many folk would start screaming about ‘look after our own first !’

You miss my point again. It is relevant, you moved for a reason, that could be to seek seclusion from mass population, so that is very relevant.

Rather than shouting on here, maybe spend your time writing to your own LA, ask them what they are doing and how many of the 23k they have assisted this year, and how many will they help next year.

London is full at a 9M population, Cornwall has only a half million population, so you could easy take in several million with funding, the same sort of funding other LA's get....which is probably the grand sum of nowt. <whistle>

I haven’t missed your point, I just don’t think it’s relevant. Me being angry about people blocking RNLI boats going out to save people’s lives has **** all to do with where I now live.

not many live there as most of the houses are owned by Londoners who visit for 2 weeks a year :bandit:

Lol, same with cornwall. There’s a massive housing problem down here due to the amount of second homes and holiday homes rented out to tourists for 6x / 10x the amount they’d get for long term rental properties

No, you are part of the problem. You shout because you want to create a them and us, rather than actually caring about the refugee's. You moved from London because of the overcrowding, would be my guess, so in turn wanting to get away from refugees.

Yet, you shout from a hilltop afar but offer nothing, because it has no affect on you.

Whereas my solutions are, the government second lifeboats that are suitable in size for the job required, they pay for those lifeboats and the crew to man them. Another solution would be to set up a Ferry or preferably a ship, that was suitable for the crossing to offer safe passage to the refugees.

It's been since stated, that most the homes in Cornwall are bought by Londoners for two week stays, so a mandatory order needs to be made for them to be used for refugee's with immediate effect. With a ship at Calais we could directly transport the refugee's to Cornwall, via your nearest harbour.

What did you offer....oh something about there being a waiting list for homes for people in Cornwall, another excuse, which is all you ever do.

thats what i was on about .

It’s a similar story in lots of tourist areas. People want to buy up the houses for weekend retreats or to make an income from
Holiday lets, the remaining housing stock is in huge demand and it pushes up the prices in house prices and rents.

Add to that that many coastal areas are also economically deprived allow wage areas and it exacerbates the problem. Brb thinks cornwall is this idyllic rural place where people go to escape, but the reality is that it is a post industrial landscape, with low wages, high levels of deprivation and a crisis in housing stock

You was trying to tell Chief the other day, how much better Cornwall was compared to Wales, I don't remember you mentioning these sob stories, more excuses why Cornwall can't offer home to refugee's, mate you're just full of shhite.

Lol, you don’t half talk some ****e on here at times mate.

You’ve made this all about me living in cornwall and it’s completely skewed your logic

I was talking about the shameful behaviour of people blocking RNLI boats, yet somehow you’ve tried to make it all about me. Lol.

I made it about you, creating a them and us, but never offering a solution to the problem. You reacting to sensational headlines, yet calling the media out any other time for not reporting the truth, unless the narrative fits.

So my logic is not skewed, I merely call you out for what you are. The same guy that banged on about saving the planet, but imports veg from half way round the world, the same guy that went out during the virus for a better gas guzzler that didn't cramp his style.

The world is full of people like you, selfish, indulgent and most of all hypocrites.

Certain parts of the media do create a them and us situation, they thrive off it because it creates traffic.

If you’d read what I’d written you would have seen that I’d already said that more LA’s including cornwall, need to be doing more to spread the load of refugee housing.

You’ve got a massive chip on your shoulder about me though. Your only argument comes down to me living in cornwall and the car I drive. Lol.
