Jose is the equivalent of wenger in 2016 or Clough in 1992...an ex great manager.
You could see he was past it with his time at United.
    Should never have been hired.
Plenty of us said it at the time so it ain't a matter of hindsight.

I don't like it from either of them.
It's passing the buck and suggests a complete lack of research into the team.
They're highly experienced managers and neither seemed to have watched many matches.
That's not a lot to ask for and I'd expect it from a **** manager, never mind supposed world beaters.

Tbf I have always admitted to not following European football so never knew about him.
But there are stories re a loan move to Barcelona for the rest of the season. If that was to happen I don't think many would object...apart from those of us who would piss on Barcelona if the were on fire <laugh>

I expect a world class manager to improve them.
I also expect him to play them in position and pick a system that makes sense for what he's got.
I don't expect him to make excuses after losing to a team with a budget of about 50p.

One thing I've noticed in the last day or so is the Lunatic Fringe are already turning on Skipp

Because that's what we want from our fanbase, people looking for excuses to turn on our players at the drop of a hat, because that exact attitude doesn't make Man Utd or Los Ladrones fans look like a bunch of toxic crybabies...

Barca can get ****ed, they probably couldn’t even afford a loan fee anyway, lol.

I just hope Conte gives Gil some game time where he’s best suited. I’d rather him in the team than Dele/ Bergwijn/ Fatbelly/ Lo Celso.

I don’t think some want to work hard enough to improve.

There’s a stinking attitude from a good few at this club and some of them have been here years, as well as just a lot of **** that can’t be improved, the whole “can’t polish a turd” comes to mind.

January really can’t come quick enough, if we can’t find buyers though then “Aurier” them. Need to get them out, feels similar to that group Poch had to bin off when bringing through Kane and co.

No way are we cancelling the contract of the laziest of the lot, as we're not going to write off £50m

And that's the issue with big transfer fees: it's one thing to cut your losses on a player who didn't work out if they cost £5-10m because any loss would be offset by half a season's worth of food & drink sales at the stadium, but once you get above the £30m mark then you need to claw back a chunk of that because writing that off will creep into what you want to spend elsewhere

And that's the biggest issue with Ndombele and Sanchez in particular, because realistically all they are at this point is an asset in a cash + player deal or even a straight swap, such as the cash + Sanchez offer that Sevilla were open to in the summer

In other words, anyone hoping that Monaco fancy either Sanchez or Ndombele in part-exchange for Badashile?

It’s not just him or Sanchez though, you can run a long list of him, Dele, Doherty, Lo Celso, Bergwijn, Winks… Utter tripe at his football club. Astonishing how bad some of them are and most seem not arsed about their situations too. Never felt such hate towards my own team’s players as I have with this lot.

The obvious point with Ndombele, Sanchez and Doherty is that they've had plenty of time in their preferred positions and have proven that either their ceilings are far lower than what is expected of them, or that they're standing in an empty field claiming they're in a two story semi

Looking at the rest of that list, though, that's not the case
Winks has been miscast as a DM for three years
Lo Celso gets shuffled into a bunch of positions and never gets to actually stake a claim to one of them
Dele's decline has been sharp, and we've actively made it worse playing him as a CM or a winger
Bergwijn has been in and out of the side, sometimes with injury and sometimes because of reasons, so has never staked a claim to a spot

The fact that we routinely have players in either the wrong position or the right position but wrong role really sums up an issue with our squad management in the last couple of years

Lo Celso has played CM, CAM and RW for us, he’s played two of those for Argentina so it’s a bit of a myth he’s being utilised in positions he’s not used too. He’s simply not been good enough, as has been the case for many. Then there’s the fact he’s another Argentinian midfielder made of glass. Pound for pound he’s arguably been worse than Ndombele, which takes some doing.

Winks has always played in the centre of the park, defining it as CM or DM with him is somewhat irrelevant as it’s his ability that’s the problem. He can’t create, tackle, dribble or score so whether you ask to him play more advanced or more defensive what does it matter? 5 years he’s been in the first team and 5 years he’s been woeful barring about 10-15 games.

Dele’s been finished for years and it’s only really Levy that’s kept him. Had Jose gotten his wish we’d have been finally rid of him last January. Lived off of Eriksen and Dembele’s greatness.

Bergwijn realistically won’t ever stake a claim for a starting spot, him more so than others I had high hopes for but he’s just not cutting it here, 1 goal in the last 16/17 months says it all. He’s been linked with a move to Ajax and I hope it has substance.

These players have played under various Spurs managers too, they’ve had chances in numerous roles, systems and styles and underperformed. It’s trying to get blood out of a stone with them. They’re lost causes and are responsible for this club’s huge plight in the last few years.

Or maybe once they’ve seen these players up close on training, they now have a better understanding on their ability (or lack of) and their attitudes.

We fans can watch games, spend hours online talking about this and go to the stadium but ultimately we will never know the players as well as the people that manage them.

If it was just one manager who had issues with players then you could maybe understand but it’s 4 experienced managers that have been let down now.

They've definitely got a better idea of the players' attitudes and abilities than I do.
That should help them to leave out the ones that aren't sufficiently motivated.
It should also help them to play people in their correct positions.
They haven't done either of those things.

People not trying? Leave them out.
People not good enough? Leave them out.
People don't fit into the only system that you want to play? Leave them out.

This is something I think may have been an issue for each manager.

Whilst we the fans will have seen the players over the weeks and years underperform, chances are the new managers only catch glimpses of them (if that) prior to taking the job and are then therefore going off on reputation/ past form when it comes to their initial selections.

Jose, Mason and Nuno put Dele into their XIs when they arrived and after a few games Dele went to **** again, with Jose and Nuno subsequently re-dropping him.

They probably arrive thinking “I’m gonna be the one to get the 2017 Dele back” but quickly realise he’s a lost cause and I’d imagine it’s similar for other players.

The club probably asks/ demands these managers try and get the best out of them too, making it somewhat a clause/ objective. Levy for instance will not want to see big money signings like Ndombele and Lo Celso constantly left out, even though both are turd. And so it can leave the manager in a compromising position where they have to try and pick their best team but also accommodate expensive flops that won’t help them.

This is why I now hope that come January, Conte demands the beginning of a clear out and Levy finally realises the hope of Dele reaching past form or Ndombele/ Lo Celso remotely resembling their transfer values are lost causes. The only way this club can begin moving forward again is cutting loose the deadweights holding us back.

Mostly, I agree. The problem is that we only have 11 or so players who don't stink the place out, for one reason or another. The festive period will wreak terrible injuries on those players, if we don't let the turkeys out at Christmas and the New Year. So, we need to give some of them some playing time, but putting them all in the same line-up is guaranteed to fail badly.

Watching Sanchez' inability to stand on his feet, whilst playing on the left, leaves me wondering what work was done on the training pitch before selecting the team. The same concern applies to the point of playing Gil on the right.

Maybe picking a few more who aren't basket cases from the off and blitzing the opposition would have worked better? I guess he thought that some of them had some professional pride. He knows different now. Conte looked shocked at what he'd seen and I doubt that we'll see much of the worst of them, ever again.

I don't think that you give the players a chance if you set the team up like that.
I'm not excusing some of the performances, but even our regular starters looked utterly ****.

A lot of it comes down to squad balance, in my opinion.
We're overloaded in some areas and threadbare in others, as I'm sure everyone's sick of me saying.
One of the stacked areas is left-wing, though. Why play Alli there?
Son, Bergwijn, Gil, Sessegnon, probably even Clarke or Lo Celso? I'd understand that.
Alli? No. He'd have been better off not playing that position at all.

Didn’t need to write “that position” in your sentence to be honest.

Though Dele has played on the left a fairly reasonable amount in spells under Poch and didn’t look too shabby. Nowadays though it doesn’t matter where he plays, you’re getting a 1/10 performance.
