Reading papers today, opinion seems to be that we have agreed the deal for Maiga to ensure we don't get dragged into last minute negotiations when the window opens . The player went on strike before the close of the last transfer window to force a move, so perhaps we backed off so that he could play till January?

If this is right, is he what we want to compliment Ba , as from what I can see from his YouTube clips, he seems to be Best and Shola morphed into one????:laugh:

If we actually get him, Mai-goodness, I don't know how I'll feel about the signing.

Am i the only one expecting pieters in Jan (if fit) just feel the way we pursued him then went for santon (play either LB/RB but prob better at RB) when it fell through leaves the option of going back in for him as i think santon was bought as a RB.

Hope so, or Cissokho. Santon - Taylor - Coloccini - Pieters/Cissokho would be **** material ;)

If we got Pieters or Cissokho and they performed up to standard our first choice defense would be probably the best it has ever been in the PL.

Yep in January/summer time I think we should be looking to bring in a centre back, left back, striker, right winger and defensive midfield cover

Onuoha, Cissokho, Maiga, Hoilett and someobdy like Diame/NZonzi who are quite good players in ****e teams as cover for Tiote :)

We'd not get all them in Jan unfortuantly.

We'd have a great squad next season though if these players came in and only out **** players left.

Yeah I just mean get couple in January then rest in the summer. Hoilett a free in the summer so could wait until then. Maybe Cissokho, Maiga in January then get the rest summer time. Don't think we would have to spend much either tbh. Something like Onuoha (£3m) Cissokho (£6m) Maiga (£7m) Hoilett (Free) Diame (£3m). That would be something like £13m January and £6m in the summer. Not unrealistic considering we do actually seem to be chasing 3 out of the 5 of these players.

Not sure I would sell anybody in January unless they came in for Smith/Perch/Ranger. Summer time think we will release the likes of Lovenkrands, Harper, Guthrie, Smith and sell the likes of Perch, Ranger which would be 5 in and 5 out. Our squad would be pretty tasty then imo. But, just depends where we finish this season. If in Europe would be easier to get players
