Probably just a hold up with a coach or two, all his old crew are in jobs. Jones does give me the impression that he’s a self righteous prick, mind.

Yeah I'm not sure either. Could be totally wrong but he seems like he could be a bit difficult. I didn't think he came across very well in his presser before the Brighton game. You could see he'd made up his mind they were going to be out to get him before it had even started. You've got to be much cooler than that.

If the reports are true I think it’s a bit stupid to promise him a job, mind. From what we’ve seen, he’s just as feckless as Bruce. I’d hate to be manager and be told “but this idiot is your assistant”.

From what I gather the issue is Jones. His understanding is that he was hired to be the number 2 and not to put the cones out.

The issue with Tindall, wasn't Tindall per se, it was Sheff Utd who need to hire a new number 2.

Graeme Jones: "The owners assured me of my future. They know I'm not here to put cones out. I'd like to think I'm prepared to get my hands dirty and have responsibility.

"We will have to see, nobody can speak about a specific role for me yet.”

Sounds like someone’s about to be managed out of the club. U23 boss ok, Graeme? No? Well, it’s that, put the cones out, or you could always leave? See ya then.

Why are they even listening to him? If he gets offered a role under the new manager then it should be a case of ‘here you go mate’ this is you in the new set up. If he doesn’t like the offer he gets shown the door, easy really.

I don’t want to piss on your fire but your 9 points off 13th and there’s 5 games. To be at least 13th you’d have to win all those games. You have Arsenal and Leicester away during that period.

Jones has done ok really... We've stopped leaking goals at least and second half on Saturday I think we gave Brighton a good game.

We haven't won, but away draws at Palace and Brighton could be good points come May.

You can quite clearly see they're trying to keep the ball and play out from the back... Under Bruce it was just boot and run.. You should all be able to see that difference even if they're aren't very good at it yet.. It takes time that can't just press a button.

But “keep ball and pass around the back” isn’t a tactic and isn’t useful when you have 3 CB, none of whom are comfortable on the ball. We still sat far too deep. We’re not playing to any kind of strengths we have individually.

1st half was terrible. 2nd half was better.

No better than Bruce performances for me.

Palace game shocking throughout. Chelsea game as expected but we did nothing.

So for me Jones has done nothing and was part of the problem.

    Still winless.

For me, Newcastle United is like the dark ages, there's no real evidence there was a club between 2008 and Jones' last game. You couldn't pay me enough to re-watch any of the turgid crap of this season. In fact, I didn't even watch Wolves.

Couple of really nice references from Potter, who I have a lot of time for, that'll do me. My early scepticism has completely gone, I'm ****ing buzzing for Howe to crack on.
