Feel like it's a bit of a kick in the teeth to Farke after everything he has done for us.

I assume they never imagined that we would win today. People's reactions on here and other social media would have been very different after another defeat and poor performance.

Absolutely. I totally agree. I feel it is the correct decision, but as others have said, bizzare timing!

Just feel a bit sad about it I guess. He gave us two amazing seasons (albeit with 1.5 shocker seasons as well).

In some ways it's kind timing.

He comes off a win with his pride intact. Media duties were complete, so no awkward interviews dealing with rumours, etc. He can say goodbye to his players tonight, who have scheduled time off for international duty.

Gives the club 2 weeks to get someone in place, but I suspect it won't take that long.

    Utterly disgusted.
At this moment I feel ashamed of my club.
    Cannot believe this has happened.
Who the **** are we going to appoint.

    Sad, sad day <wah>

I said to my mate earlier... wonder who the Dortmund II manager. We would more likely go for them than an ex manager no? :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Can't see it. Believe he fell out with Webber before leaving, and he's only been at Swansea about 20 minutes. If we wanted Russ, I don't think the timing works. No way Webber backs Farke publicly so recently, then replaces him with Russ.

Roy Hodgson as a caretaker would make sense given his friendship with Delia, but I really think Webber's hand has been forced by whichever replacement he wants.

Curious rumour, Kjetil Knutsen of Bodø/Glimt.

He got them promoted, won the Norwegian top flight, and thrashed Mourinho's Roma 6-1 recently in Europa Conference.

He's all but won the title this year in Norway, and got out of the group stage. Could leave now and probably not jeopardise either. Club would have ample time to replace him.

There's a wishful thread on him from Pinkun forum from a couple of weeks ago: https://forum.pinkun.com/index.php?/topic/144523-i-want-kjetil-knutsen-from-bodøglimt/

Plays a 4-3-3 which could suit our squad.

To make the case for sacking Farke:
    • We're bottom, with 1 win and 5 points after 11 games.
    • We've played 3 formations in the last 3 games, and today was the first time we've seen anything coherent in attack.
    • Suggestion that we've been moving away from a playing style which is what the club want as much as Farke.
    • No idea who is first choice LB
    • No place in the side for Cantwell, Tzolis, Gilmour.
    • Defending set pieces still an issue
    • In-game management, substitutions never been a strength
Its a cutthroat decision nonetheless, but if someone genuinely top class is lined up, I think it could make sense.

I guess we'll find out in 6 months.

The difference will probably be : Farke : Relegated 2021/2 straight back up. New manager : relegated 2021/2 stay down.

Possibly, but equally part of what Farke has done for the club is make us really competitive in the Championship, so it may well be that some fresh ideas give us a chance of staying up this year without actually seriously risking our chances of getting re-promoted if we go down - let’s face it, even with Farke it would be no guarantee.

Interesting that the betting odds have, amongst the favourites like Lampard, Rusty and Steve Bruce:
    - Pascal Jansen - I’ve never heard of him, personally. Looking at his profile, might be plausible. Seems very strange he’d be amongst the favourites without some sort of reason.
    - Enrico Maansen - Never heard of him either but I feel like that’s more the Dortmund link being exaggerated.
    - Kjetil Knutsen - No idea about him, but again his profile looks believable (though some joker has already started on his Wikipedia page).

Edin Terzic, who was interim Dortmund manager last season and currently technical manager, has been linked to numerous Bundesliga roles as well as the Spurs job in the summer (although wasn't everyone...).

    Could make sense?

The reason why we have never managed to establish ourselves at the top level in five attempts (Worthington onwards) is that we have got ourselves promoted each time without being EPL-ready. There's no point (apart from the monetary windfall) in going straight back up unless you are ready e.g. in terms of style of play and quality of player. Webber has got us EPL-ready off the pitch, but DF didn't have us ready on it. That's why he has gone. Even if it takes more than one season for whoever comes in to get it right, that's what's needed. Immediate re-promotion isn't necessarily the answer.
