Sorry, no relevant place to put this, but found it funny - In a parallel universe, Callum Wilson shares the striker responsibilities with Mitrovic, Ivan Toney and Adam Armstrong, recent years aren't quite so bad and we have far more attacking threat. It's a shame Rafa preferred Joselu, Yoshinori Muto and a loan of Islam Slimani.
He got it badly wrong on Toney, but no evidence that Mitrovic or Armstrong are Premier League quality players. Mitrovic is a bit like Gayle, too good for the Championship but not good enough for the big league.
What I would say, in Howe's defence, is that clearly the owners would have sought the opinion of Wilson and possibly Ritchie/Fraser. If they influence the decision to the point where they want to make him manager, then there can be no better endorsement than members of your own squad. It is what it is, we've all got to get right behind him. Including me.
Let's hope he's picking the team this weekend but I suspect we're getting Joness shower of ****e again
I read a Chron "here's a team he (Howe) might pick" and it was just as **** as Jones. That isn't to say Howe has picked it! I'm just not a fan of 4-4-2. In fact, anything that sticks any two of our midfielders together is a nightmare. I've already told you Jones side - Longstaff/Darlow out, Shelvey/Dubs in, 5-4-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-1. That;s in attack. 9-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-1 when defending (which is 90% of the match).
