I have been reading in Allison Pearson’s column in the Telegraph that the Glasgow Christmas light switch on was cancelled because of Covid Passports. So it would seem that Wee Jimmy McKrankie has entered into the Scrooge spirit of depriving the Weegies’ kids of seeing some sparkly lights because they did not arrive by private jet or a twenty car motorcade with an exemption. Did they have a Christmas light switch on last year before anybody thought of Covid Passports? Perhaps some visionary decided that Christmas lights were not helping with fantasy ‘zero carbon’ objectives. They may reach ‘net zero’ by 2050 but it will not be zero carbon just zero intelligence. I am sure that the Archbishop of Canterbury will be delighted if we get away from all the Capitalist trappings of Christmas and get back to the God bothering virtuous belief part of it being something to do with being born in a horse barn. She keeps out of the specifics, as whenever her script writers have included anything remotely like a suggested solution, it simply showed that they know very little about the issues, but why would they, they're politically, not environmentally motivated.
