Randomly when i did jury service, one of the cases i sat in on was to do with a chap who was accused of playing with his chap inside his car sat outside an all-girls catholic school.
Was he the school Priest? Did he have a miniature guitar in his possession?

You wouldn't be surprised, but no.
We actually unanimously found him not guilty. There were 3 girls who gave evidence. Two gave almost word for word the same testimony and were loving the whole experience. The third came across as totally convincing and said it was pretty much all made up.
The worst thing was, this was actually his second trial after the first one collapsed for some reason and his name and face had already been plastered all over the local papers branding him as a pervert/*****phile, but he (we all believed) was completely innocent. feck knows how his life turned out, but even with a not guilty verdict he would have had a cloud hanging over him with his neighbours etc. His employers were fully supportive of him and gave evidence on his behalf.
Years ago, two female friends of mine went to walk part of the Camino de Santiago in Spain. They'd lost their bearings at one point and approached a local sitting in a parked car to ask for directions. He was bashing out a bit of flamenco on his mini guitar and was taken unawares. They just laughed and walked on.
I asked them what he had used to point the way...

well since it was traditionally a Jewish run company probably best not to put that view to them .
I can't imagine a circumstance in which I would need to know or use a staff member's pronoun. Up until now other than saying 'thank you John' or making chit chat, the occasion has never arisen. After the George Floyd inspired underwear I'm quickly going off M&S. I don't need or want my local shops to get involved with wider social issues. Having a drop off point for food for the local cats home or helping feed the hungry is one thing. This social awareness or whatever it is is unnecessary.

Have to agree it is a big difference as forcing everyone to declare would be extreme.
It is frankly ridiculous as it requires me to either write about or speak about a person to actually come into effect.
If we take our favourite Elliott page who's a genuine person . He/they.

There's loads of these so a particularly sarky person can pick totally different ones just to take offense if you don't tie yourself in knots to get it right. In the end I would say zie is up hir own hole if they think people can keep up.
All these point to is gender, boiled down is very simple but some choose to make it horrendous by mixing drinks like our Elliott.
He/his = identifies male. She/her fine. They/ their ok neutral don't identify either. But then there's about 20 more and people start mixing them like he/they and that's just awkward.

99% of people have no issue but people are falling over themselves to look sympathetic but then their action privately might be shocking.
I'd suggest to m&s to start with gender neutral bathrooms and not the easy visible name tag stuff. It's the equivalent of rainbow product branding around pride. Aka cheap cynical matketing
