I'm the same Luv. Although I generally then have to keep checking they're doing it the way I want and become a complete pain in the arse until I end up in an argument with the bloke doing it lol.

I think I'm going to get to a point where I say fck it and just let the kids have a go at it. They're in their late teens, why not :bandit:

I reached that point a decade back, whilst painting beams in our kitchen during a weeks supposed ‘holiday’. I vowed it’d be the last decorating I’d do, and it was.

Pretty sure that when this geez does our halls stairs and landings next week I'll be having him back to do everything in the future.

Assuming he does a good job of course.

Got my way on this essentially, I did the stripping and ****ing about but someone else can do the plastering and finishing.

If it works as well as I plan, hopefully I've extricated myself from decorating forever.

I'm not bad at DIY but draw the line at ****ing wallpapering. The Mrs does that as that's her trade.

Just finished putting a bathroom cabinet together, lots of leftover bits. Seems okay though.

    10% rule.

Less than 10% of the bits left when you’ve done and it’s sound.

They always lob in a few extra washers and bolts, so I reckon half of that 10% is just surplus anyway.

There is absolutely zero fkin wallpaper in my house. Walls are made of granite so it's never happening.

I'm the same, once you start with wallpaper it's hard work to replace it.

The decorator has pulled out. Vertigo for **** sake! What bleedin decorator has vertigo, they're up ladders all day?

I just know she wants the ground floor bit done for Christmas so I will end up papering that ceiling myself.

Will have to find an alternative for the higher stuff though, **** that.
