Have to say that Chaz looks a tad leaner than he has done for a number of seasons.......could be that hoops make him look slimmer than strips.........

As a little aside concerning last night, my journey was interesting.
We decided to get the train as driving in for an evening game has always been an absolute nightmare in the past.
We had return tickets to Ealing Broadway from our local station, with a short underground trip to White City to follow.
It turned out that, even though we bought all the correct tickets, at no time did we need to show a ticket or open a barrier.
The entire journey there and back could have been done without a ticket.

I don't use trains very often and the underground even less.
Is this normal?
Not in my experience Col. I’m taking the train a lot more now I get the old gits discount (£21 return on match day as opposed to £33 - with the current price of petrol it’s also cheaper than driving for me and means I can have more than the single pint….there goes the saving) and on the Chiltern line you always have to use your ticket to get in and out of Marylebone and sometimes at Leamington. Much less frequently checked on the train but it has happened. On the tube it’s always show ticket/card on entrance and exit in my recent experience.

Might vary by line and tube zone.

Drove yesterday though, surprisingly clean escape as well, traffic was fine.

Are we in danger of making Austin our latest scapegoat? Feel like his current struggles are symptomatic of a team that is collectively struggling. If we create chances he's still our best bet for putting them away but we aren't really creating much at the moment.

Don’t think Austin is being scapegoated, there is just surprise at how dramatic his physical decline has been. This is much more evident when you see the game live than on a screen, you see what he does off the ball - very little. It’s almost like he has arthritis, every little run is a major effort, and he shows it. Not sure if this was expected when we (re) signed him, I hope so otherwise our ‘sign at risk’ policy is misfiring.

The problem is that we celebrated long and loud when we signed him after the loan, likewise with Johansen. Austin was like a talisman, but Johansen was meant to be the difference in quality which we needed to challenge properly. I don’t think he is anywhere near delivering on that at the moment. Let hope he starts soon, we are still in serious contention, which is rather bizarre and says everything about this ultra competitive but variable quality league.

Who’s scapegoating him? What did I miss?

(On recent evidence I’d say our best bet for putting them away is Dykes or Chair)

I asked about the old git's discount.
I was told the only way to get a reduced ticket was to buy a railcard. Is that what you did?

When we got to Ealing Broadway, we walked straight through to the central line. At white city, some of the gates were open with no staff anywhere.
Same thing going back.

If we'd tried to do it all without any tickets, sods law dictates we'd have been caught.

Yeah, £70 for three years, think it’s £30 for a year. If you download the Trainline app, you can do the railcard, buy tickets already discounted and get electronic tickets all in one place. Because I’ve got an ST it’s paid for itself already, and I have been going down to town socially a lot more too. Mind you those old gits living in London get everything for nowt. I reckon Strolls spends his days sleeping on buses.

I get no end of fun out of winding up pals who live just a few miles from me - but are not in a London borough and therefore don't get free travel - about how much I save. They always bite.

Is there a link to Clive's report yet?
Looking forward to it in a gruesome kind of way.

Not posted yet........ still raging about the "offside" decision, as we all are......... He's probably still working out how many different ways he can describe Stroud & Co as "insert expletive here"........

One other thing, just when we thought it couldn't get any worse on the ref front, Chuckles Woolmer has been given the Cardiff game next Wednesday.......

Did that have anything to do with his pace?
Not especially. Dont think Austin has achieved much of what he has in his career from pace. Anticipation baby, getting in the right place at the right time, shooting and heading ability. And he's still got this. Agree with Tramore, he also looks leaner and fitter to me now. Pace we had with BOS, and have missed that since he left, though Moses is pretty quick.

Why was a referee's name, address and mobile number being displayed (just deleted by me) on the site. I'm trying to make sense of what is going on.

My concern is after recent media attention on social media threats, I could do without that sort of stuff on here, unless I've seriously picked up wrong on what's going on?
