Joelinton and Lewis will get raped on the left hand side. At least Ritchie would offer some creativity, crosses and good defensive work rate to assist lewis.
Ritchie was embarrassing last time he played further forward than left wing back. Legs have gone. Add to that Big Joe is one of form players and biggest defensive contributors of late, I'm happy with what I selected. Lewis is a massive risk but Ritchie has struggled for weeks now so I think to be fair to Lewis, who was dropped for poor form, its right he gets a chance.
I don't agree with this. Ritchie's defensive frailties are not really his fault, he was never a defender, and ask to be played out of position. His work rate is good and his deliveries are decent.
Either way, we're going to be short in that LM position regardless. I'd prefer Ritchie for his work rate and defensive cover. Not a good LB but not bad as a defensive support.
Prepare ourselves for a good old rogering boys. Just accept what's coming in the first half, don't expend too much energy, then second half, clench that sphincter as if our lives depended on it. 3-0

Lewis is ****e though.
No he's not
He's was crap but he deserves another try...
I think Lewis had a shocking time. He looked nowhere near the standard being truthful. He's a young lad though and has now had a good amount of time to work on his deficiencies away from the PL glare, trained at PL level for a sustained period with PL players (well some of them anyway). I think with Ritchies poor form, its time to have another look and see if he's improved.
I have to say trying to pin all his problems on coaching is a bit far fetched mind. A lot of it has to come from the player himself and he's made very basic errors. His awareness of what's around him was shocking. He did actually show he was learning his cover role a little though. To suggest that simply changing the coach will see him come good is a bit pie in the sky to me personally. I'd say we have to recognise we've got done a little with him. There is reason other clubs didn't follow up their interest to any real extent. We've clearly believed we can iron out the bad stuff, and what you're getting going forward will be worth the patience. It still could be, he hasn't had long at this level. He may adapt. I think perhaps he was thrown in too quickly. I do agree though a senior left back would have helped. As with all things us under the previous owner, its tricky because 14m to us is a lot of money then, so the fans expect. But really 14m does really just buys you potential at this level a lot of the time.
I think another disappointing thing for me is he never got a chance when we played a back three. Which I think his attacking instincts would have been more suited to.
This to me should be our line up until Jan get some consistency in lineup with players in their actual positions!
A crock of ****
.Yeah that was my thinking basically. Keep it simple.
If we go back to when Rafa had a good go at keeping us up. The main thread was he just played a basic system, with players in correct roles, and he just got their heads down and worked. Even the likes of Mbemba who he didn't fancy, he recognised he was a top performer and good foil pace wise for cardboard hips.
My only reservation was picking Willock. He's been our worst player for me, I don't know what's happened. He's been worse than Longstaff and I haven't rated many of his performances. However I think he is the better player and I'd probably let him play through it in hope.
