**** me your desperate to prove a point. How do you know that wasn't the case ? How do you know Adkins wasn't promised another job only for it to go to someone else ? Why did he wait until the middle of June before chucking the towel in with us ?
Not that any of it matters. He left Hull City, who gave him a leg up back into football management when no other club would touch him with a bargepole, then waited two years for another chance at Charlton who then binned him after a season and a bit.
What point are you trying to make balkan ?

What point am I making ????

Could it be that those who think they are in the know don't know as much as they like to think.

How do I know ... The thing is I don't and therefore I try not to make bold statements inferring I do.

Your making the 'bold statements' inferring that I think I am in the know ? Something you have assumed yourself because I have never claimed that.
I know plenty as it happens but I have no wish to share my information on here because if things do not go to plan or as hoped, as does happen in life, the likes of yourself trawl the site and drag up posts from two years ago in some ridiculous attempt to make the poster look like an idiot.

I forgot about that Wilks shot. That would've been a right mess for the ref if that had gone in.

You're right that it's the rub of the green, the bounce of the ball and so on at times. But the thing is under McCann the fine margins go against us almost every game. We play reasonable football most of the time but we nearly always throw a goal away and we consistently waste chances ourselves. He's not been able to fix it. He hasn't been able to stop us conceding from a lack of concentration at short corners in over two years and he hasn't managed to teach Eaves to stop making pointless fouls or Wilks to pass to a better placed teammate instead of having potshots. These are the kinds of things that define his tenure for me. At this point I just don't see how results can improve with him here.

We don't play reasonable football most of the time". We play 'let's not lose it' football passing backwards and sideways.

Those league 1 standard players at Blackpool aren’t doing too badly are they? Didtn even know they won last night after been 2 down away at reading.
On loan Crewe player scored and a lower league journeyman centre forward scored two.

Marvelous what you get with a decent gaffer/manager/head coach

There's a whole thread on Nigel Adkins leaving, you were adamant that he was offered improved terms and conditions twice although there seems to be nothing to back up that claim. Then you went on to suggest the reason he was leaving was because he had another job lined up, negotiated while stringing out contract talks with Hull City whilst still employed by them.

That tread got into a right bun fight over that.

And does it really matter ? They were my opinions at the time, it was also the feeling from some within the club because Adkins was offered two improved contracts from his original one offered in the March. I know that, so you either believe me or you don't, although it doesn't really matter either way. But he dithered and dithered about signing them then decided in the summer not too. I don't think it was anything to do with the relegation clause either, although those claiming to be ITK claimed it was. I think it was more to do with the offer made to ( or no offer) made to his assistant.
Not that any of it matters today.
But those wanting to clobber the club over the head because of it conveniently forget that is was Hull City who gave Adkins a chance of management again and as I posted earlier, Adkins left on good terms with the owners probably because of the chance they gave him.

About all this 'Get behind the lads' 'support the lads' thing.

Didn’t anyone else notice there was no fans at all last season and we won our first title in years?

Doesn't that kind of ruin that get behind the team thing?
When was the last time you were 'behind the lads' ?

I've said this before, but just in case you missed it, I've been going to City since I was seven years old and I only stopped going when the Allams tried to change the name of my club.

Nothing since then has changed my mind.

So it's over five years ? Where were we then in the league ? What league were we in ?
Did you realise the Allams never changed the name of the club and that we are still called Hull City ?
Life is too short matey, let it go.

Maybe we had an advantage as our players were used to playing in a ground with no atmosphere so we were at an advantage when we played at places where the crowd make a lot of noise as their players weren’t?

I think the point about this is those people who are quiet all the game and the only time they make
any noise is "sacked in the morning" or booing the players at the end . We have plenty of those types .

On this forum too.

Constantly undermining the players, the spirit and unity of the club.

I really don't think this forum has any effect whatsoever on the players. The players don't read it. In fact most of the fans don't read either. We're very small time here on 606.

As for chanting or booing, we'll don't try blaming the likes of me, I'm not even at the games.

It's the only city forum.

Of course they read it. They don't admit to it, but rest assured they read it.

That said, I'm currently watching this game back again.

The number of chances we spaffed up is ridiculous. It was inevitable that Dembeles dink went in. We should have been out of sight by then. The signs were there last season when we needed half a dozen chances to score a goal - only we were in a league where we could create at least a dozen chances in most games.

We had at least 7 - 8 clear cut chances before they suckered us and frankly the profligacy from our forward line in this game was truly alarming.

Peterboro were ****. But 4 or 5 half chances in the 90 they bag 2.

Its one the most naive city performances I think I've seen in 35 plus years.
