Foredeckdave, how´s this,

When the Liver bird meets the canary
Whose feathers will be first to fly,
A contest, extraordinary
But very pleasing to the eye,
Will it be the one with the wingspan
Who is triumphant on the day,
Or he with the pretty song, who can
Win it, in his own special way.

:)

<ok>

No point in competeing with a Bard!

When the Liver Bird meets the Canary
Who'll win at the end of the day?
Both sides understandably wary
Not wanting to give much away
But the big bird will end on the high perch
I really feel certain of that
'Cos the King will have done all his research
And we're fielding Sylvester the Cat

RBF - I reckon, with your fine verses, you are going to make our relationship with the red half of Liverpool, pretty much on the same footing as the Black Cats

A mightgy fine effort, sir.
<ok>

You left out the "ast"

Calm down Jonesey, there´s a good fella, we were getting along so nicely, ask any of our lot on here, and they´ll tell you that writing verse is pretty much second nature to me, I´ve been doing it for the last 3 years or so and find it the easiest way of communicating. Tends to snuff out any agro.

:)

^^This one's a bit rubbish though

I'm not really a poet but I thought I would give it a try...

The Green and gold army, to Anfield they come
I'm talking 'bout Norwich, not the Manc scum.
The Canary bird will be singing out loud
but the Liverbird's voice, will drown out their crowd.
From League 1 to the Championship, they were reaching new heights,
Now Delia's canaries are Premier League delights
Her half time speech, some say was a farce
One things for sure, she has a wonderful cookbook.
