They are all dodgy, the characteristics just vary in each case.

The sport is morally bankrupt and it will drop its drawers for anyone with a big wad.

Football will eat itself.
We all used to say the same at work on break times. That was thirty years ago and football has just grown and grown.

Discussion on TS this morning about which other 'top 6' club might be next.... seemingly mountains of money waiting in the wings...

You want us to go back to crumbling football grounds, dodgy chairmen and the government subjugating law abiding fans? ****, can’t wait.

The crumbling grounds have gone, prices jacked way too high to allegedly the cover the cost of seating, but the chairmen are far dodgier and the over-legislation of law abiding fans is much worse.

For all its warts back then, it didn't attract so many ****ers and it was far more of a level-playing field, creating far more of a sporting spectacle.

No. You’re wrong on every count. I don’t have to stand in a cage anymore, under threat of having to prove my identity. Yes grounds are vastly improved now, that has happened since the times you wish to go back to so those grounds (like the Circle right now) will crumble again. And I don’t see any chairmen burning down their own stadium on a Wednesday night.

The past isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. We may have been younger but things weren’t necessarily better.

You'll sit down where you're told and don't stand up without reason.

I see chairmen using leveraged buyouts to suck millions out of the game and people buying into football for political or status reasons.

The game has been taken over by casino spivs and their assistants at Sky and the BBC who will not dare rock the boat for fear of being kicked off the gravy train.

It's a ****ing cartel.

Valid criticisms of the modern game. Nothing to do with going back to pre-PL conditions. You’ve just posted noise.

Pre 1992 reset referred to a more equitable distribution of money and the fairer competition that would be produced.

You're the one who turned the subject to spectating conditions,

**** football.

Hopefully the super league was just waiting for the global superpower that is Newcastle United to get its house in order.
