They have commissioned a series about Jimmy Saville called 'the reckoning' and Steve Coogan will play Saville. Firstly they are one of the major reasons he got away with it and secondly what reckoning are they talking about? There was no reckoning. They really have no shame, I wonder who will play Martin Bashir when they make that series.
will they include John Lydon talking about Jimmy Saville being into all kinds of seediness, that we all know about, but not allowed to talk about??
In this era of wanting to erase history, and with plenty of people still around that worked for the BBC in that unsavoury era that either knew what was happening and turned a blind eye to events, or worse still were in on it, it's too shameless, even for the over zealous and pompous BBC. Not a thought for the victims either who are still having to live with what happened every day. Disgusting
BBC are not worth the toilet paper-wrong people at the very top and an institution that needs binning.
ITV and Good Morning Britain have as much to answer employing Alistair Campbell introducing their morning show. Is there a more bitter man on television?
There's not much media you can trust nowadays.........................in fact I don't trust any of them.......but what I'm more concerned about, so many, are easily sucked in by it, causing hysteria, panic and brainless stupidity....
I agree with this entirely and that part of the media that the government can control need to be brought into line and that of course is the scumbag BBC. I agree also about the hysteria, panic and brainless stupidity but to be fair if the BBC is promoting the 'apparent' lies about fuel shortages and driver shortages or bog roll shortages, then that will induce those things. Which sadly is the action of an increasingly rude, selfish and with a huge sense of entitlement generations that inhabit our shores. The BBC needs to be cut adrift, their output is shocking, the only BBC programme I actually regularly watch is Mortimor and Whitehouse 'gone fishing', I am seriously considering not renewing my licence when it is up for renewal.
Online, I tend to read the Mail, the BBC and Sky for my news (plus the Gibraltar Chronicle - but that's for specific Gib news). I suppose that's 2 right wing views and one left. I occasionally read the Guardian too which is another lefty view. I like to listen to all sides of a debate before making up my own mind about things. On the 'basic' headlines (which is really all I want on a day-to-day basis) there isn't much to choose between them imho. It's when you get to the long articles and opinions that they become VERY different from each other.
I must be out of date, out of touch, on another planet or maybe just plain old school, I still go by what my ol' dad taught me, if you don't want to watch or hear it then use the on /off button, there is one on every receiving unit. I think the BBC has some good useful things, I can choose wether to pay the licence or not and enjoy some drama, some radio, some sport, the commercial stations have some good things, some drama, some radio, some sports, the good thing about today we have choice, we can choose the direction of our own interests, even on social media I am learning and it can be very useful, I love Amazon. I control my viewing, listening and participation, my mind is my own, I have freedom of choice and as mentioned I also have that off button, good ol' dad, he was right as usual.
And this is true and exactly what I do, Mortimor and Whitehouse 'gone fishing' ends next Sunday and then BBC can go **** itself until I see something else that I might find remotely watchable.
I'll add that once a year I'll buy a physical copy of the Sun - for the Grand National pullout - but to hide my embarrassment being seen with it I make sure I fold it inside a porn mag as I leave the newsagents, so that nobody would realise I'd bought the Sun....
Well let's see. The BBC's output IMHO sucks, it has morphed from a quality output say 20 years ago to dumbed down cheap quiz's and totally unfunny comedy and news where the output has become as unreliable as the gutter press in the UK, they regularly present people as 'ordinary' Joe's complaining about government policy without actually revealing that they are in fact left wing campaigners. Several of their 'reporters' are regularly being admonished for their ill researched inaccurate stories, the new controller has just been given a huge 16.5% pay rise and they are losing up to 500 viewers on a daily basis, who are opting out of paying their licence fee. Question time for instance has lost around 2 mil viewers in the past 2 years, what is there to like? And the series about Saville just about sums up the attitude of the BBC and that is one of we don't give a **** what anybody thinks. The BBC used to be the envy of the world, now it' not even the envy of the UK.
The 17,000 illegal immigrants that we've be made to take this year already should all be bought TV licences and made to watch some of the sh*t that the BBC produce on a continuous loop. Perhaps if they did, they'd voluntarily offer to go back to France.
If you want cynicism, I believe that it's a deliberate ploy by the BBC to exasperate the government so much, they are cut adrift from the licence fee to become another commercial TV station, if not then their actions over the past 10 years or so is the longest running suicide note in history.
