That's another bloody strong line up for the Yanks this morning isn't it. Best hope for gales/rain (though we didnt exactly dominate in the wind yesterday afternoon)
While Mcilroy was terrible yesterday, the only thing I'd say, is he seems to have a poor first day at every major, then sorts himself out. Maybe would have been worth a gamble keeping him in? We certainly need some inspiration from somewhere.
Presumably rotating Fleetwood?
I'd forgotten Rose. They surely should have found a place for him in the 12? Have I imagined it or do USA have more 'captain's' picks than Europe?

I've a feeling I've seen this tweet before.
Rose would have been a solid pick , and I agree with the point on here about Rory he always sees to have a crap first or second day then picks up - today could have been his day

Or I've dreamt it.

Or is it a day jar voo?

Anyway...

Not picking Rose was a big mistake. There's no way back for Europe from here I feel.

Huge mistake in my eyes..Poulter is a flair player who thrives when things are going well.Justin Rose would've been a far better option?
The Postman always delivers. Unless he decides he can't be arsed and dumps it somewhere. Which has happened.

Rory...Tony Jacklin mark 2. Good early days, then fell away to a also ran.

Even if Europe get a half today...That's 10-6 to the Yanks....Only need 4.5 to win it on Sunday...Easy peasy.

Fantastic looking course, just had a quick look how much it would be for a round for the lad I normally play with and myself.... $795 !

Excellent!!! You'll see a big change in a short time:emoticon-0148-yes:

I'm not a serious golfer,I've got a half decent set of Clubs and play maybe 10 rounds a year.I'm 60 now so it's good for a walk out:emoticon-0148-yes:

I didn't spend much on my first set, just a second hand set of eBay as I wanted to see if I liked it first. But really fell in love with the game tbh so just had a custom fitting done and got myself a full set of clubs..... Now I'm recovering from open wallet surgery haha

If I was McIlroy... id takt a year out... go and spend time with your family and his new children... sure, he'll lose his top 50 place but look where Speith has come back from.

Each designated captain decides on the amount of picks they have on their announcement. STRICKER for the Americans decided to have six qualify and leave himself with 6 picks, Harrington on the other hand didn't fancy that so went for 9 qualifiers with 3 picks, I suspect he is kind of rueing that decision now, but coming into this Fleetwood, Westy, Poulter, McIlroy (despite him actually winning an event he was poor in the others) even Fitzpatrick were showing no form whatsoever, Poulters record recently in the cup managed to give him the nod over Rose, who himself prior to the last couple of qualifying tournaments had shown nothing and was on a downward trend. The yanks on the other hand have all been showing great form, so what you saw yesterday was the yanks playing how they have recently, similarly the Europeans. They need a seismic shift to get back on track here, but the yanks are young and hungry, can't see us doing much better today sadly.

Been playing a long time 24 years but once a week and working away - last two years spent a fortune on lessons and gear and able to play and practise twice or more a week handicap from 16 to 12 now and I’m 64! So very pleased wished I’d spent the time and had lessons years ago
Go for it if you can - one lesson on its own us a waste of time ️‍♀️
