Amazing memory for me: our first premier league win, at their ground, when Tommy Smith scored.

That felt so good because the Italians weren't allowing any signings and Warnock was making do with a Championship winning squad. There was a massive underdog, battling feeling. I actually would have preferred Warnock to stay and for us to try and stay up with that squad. Instead of the **** show that we experienced over the rest of the season after Warnock left and the next few years after. Of course, there have been good games here and there, but we would have had a different fate if things went differently at that pivotal moment. That sale of the club changed everything.
Controversial take: I actually think the two Italians were much better businessmen and would have been ok for us if they'd continued as owners. They were eccentric and kind of were knobs, but at the end of the day they didn't throw their money away on stupid things. They got a lot right while they were here, even though they got some things wrong, like the new badge, etc.
Put it this way: Uncle Tony had much better PR than the Italians. A lot of people didn't like the Italians from the start and Uncle Tony's great PR made the fans really like him for a long time, even though he essentially cocked things up perfectly, step by step.
