    Match Preview;
Our league cup opponents on Tuesday night at currently sitting 5th in the Premier League, having won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1 so far, in their most recent game they lost 3-0 to Villa. In The League Cup, they beat Huddersfield 1-2 in the last round. Their top scorers are Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Demarai Gray who both have 3 goals already this year.

As for us, we'll be hoping for a good cup result after a very disappointing last minute loss against Bristol City on Saturday. Cup runs haven't really been a thing for QPR in my lifetime, and this year I'm in two minds about whether I'd want a cup run or to focus on the league. Guess a good cup run always lifts the spirits and increases confidence, especially when it involves knocking out a Premiership team.

    Team News:
QPR: Lee Wallace, Sam Field and Charlie Owens will all miss out for the R’s.

Everton: Richarlison, Jordan Pickford, Seamus Coleman and Jean-Philippe Gbamin look likely to miss out.

    Pre-match talk:
Mark Warburton (QPR Manager): “Playing a side like Everton, in front of a packed stadium, is the perfect opportunity for us to show a response. You have to be excited by a tie of this magnitude.”

Rafael Benitez (Everton Manager): “The team has shown character and a very good attitude and I am happy with that. We have to take all the positives from the past games and training sessions and try to be sure we are ready for this one.”

Enjoy the game if you are going and as always...

    ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

    Dave Thomas!

I think the fat waiter* will have had some words after Everton’s last non performance and we could be in for a hard night.

    Cheers Dave

    * actually, despite dress sense and girth, I really rate Benitez, improves teams and players wherever he goes.

Luke Amos could return. Be interesting to see him and Stef in the middle of the park.

I am almost certain Amos will start. He played 90 mins in the recent B team game.

I'm guessing it must be from a helicopter...there aren't any tall building on that side of the ground, so it must be. Or these days more likely a drone.

It has big Cargiant advertisements on the roof. So it must be late 90s or early 2000s?

That's a great photo of HQ even though it's a few years old........ Also shows how confined we are with the houses and school. To think that Wright had the chance to buy the land that the old Ellerslie Road school stood on but passed up the opportunity, HQ could have been expanded and the search for a new ground wouldn't have been necessary........

We've had some high scoring games with them over the years, this could be another.....

Could be a very tough match. I expect that Everton will play a weakended team and hope that we give them go. It would be great to win, but I would be very pleased with a draw and vistory in the penalty shoot out.

A pity that the stream is not on QPR+ and will need to be satisfied with just the match commentary

Hope your wrong ole mate and that the fat waiter, having eaten all the leftovers from the luncheon smorgasbord, is feeling quite bloated and carefree, not really giving a toss how the team fair.

Of course, l’m the perennial optimist who when given a 50-50 situation, is 100% chance of getting things wrong.

You are correct of course and we will get a flogging.

    As you were…

Amazing memory for me: our first premier league win, at their ground, when Tommy Smith scored.

That felt so good because the Italians weren't allowing any signings and Warnock was making do with a Championship winning squad. There was a massive underdog, battling feeling. I actually would have preferred Warnock to stay and for us to try and stay up with that squad. Instead of the **** show that we experienced over the rest of the season after Warnock left and the next few years after. Of course, there have been good games here and there, but we would have had a different fate if things went differently at that pivotal moment. That sale of the club changed everything.

Controversial take: I actually think the two Italians were much better businessmen and would have been ok for us if they'd continued as owners. They were eccentric and kind of were knobs, but at the end of the day they didn't throw their money away on stupid things. They got a lot right while they were here, even though they got some things wrong, like the new badge, etc.

Put it this way: Uncle Tony had much better PR than the Italians. A lot of people didn't like the Italians from the start and Uncle Tony's great PR made the fans really like him for a long time, even though he essentially cocked things up perfectly, step by step.

Yes,I was really pissed off they sacked Colin then. He had proved before and has since that he was an excellent Manager.

I was scared towards the end of the Bristol game that Stefan had done his hamstring. I read on WLS that Warburton was too, but apparently it was only bad cramp and he's Ok. Sounds like he's going to be rested this evening though.

Who we talking about Os? It was Tony and Co that sacked Warnock after that miserable FA Cup defeat at Franchise FC, this after he'd been given funds to buy the likes of Gabidand, Bothroyd, Barton, Ferdinand, Traore........yep they really improved us!!!!!! Warnock would have been better sticking with the squad that was promoted but he decided to send Hill out on loan to Forest ditch Gorkss and Connolly, he was like a kid in the sweet shop......

I know he's fondly remembered for that one season, but he started the free fall that we went into with Hughes and Kneecap.......

Nah, he had to let good players like the on loan Routledge go during the summer before the 1st PL season because the selling Owners wouldn't fund any purchases, and he got a week before the window closed to bring in new players under the new Owners. Some strengthening was then needed. Warnock saved us from probable relegation when he came in at the end of his 1st season, won us the Championship the next, with style, and had us 9th in the PL in November of his 3rd season, with most of that Championship squad plus the new ones, who could have been and weren't that bad. Yet you still aren't happy with those best 22 months or so we had under Colin in about the last 25 years !!!@!!!!

But Trammers if you are also Tramore, then we have done all this before.

Duke -McKenna is a product of Everton youth team. Thought he had made it when asked to join the first team in the Europa cup tie. Few months later he was unceremoniously shown the door.
If he gets on tonight he will have something to prove

Os yes one and the same!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong the Championship winning season was wonderful and Warnock did a hell of a good job in that time, the football was great to watch and the togetherness of that squad was there for all to see. I agree that Briatore and Co tied Warnocks hands behind his back with the lack of funds whilst trying to sell the club but when he was given funds by Fernandez he wasted it on those that I named above plus one other that I forgot, a certain Shaun Wright-Phillips.......... In theory they should have been an upgrade but weren't as they had no desire to really play for us, it was cash that counted. Yes he got us to 9th in the League in late November but by the time he was sacked we were down to 17th having taken 2 points from 7 games.......

    Still all ancient history now.....

    Looking forward to tonight's game......

7 games, wow such patience and long-sightedness shown after what he had achieved.
