It was nowt to do with Pickford, I think as a team we mentally switched off for some reason, as if the game was won.
It'll do for where they're now and if they drop to the Championship. If they want to fulfil their lofty ambitions with a new chairman, top 4, challenging for cups etc, then they'll have to move with the times and build a modernised stadium. Elite players would rather not play at something resembling a scrapyard these days. It all helps to build the brand.
The infrastructure issues are a pain in the arse for them, though. Everytime they want to do something they have to go off and ask the council first of all and then renegotiate their rent all over again. I'd imagine if they want to be a top club they'd rather have full ownership of the stadium and be able to build around it.

I disagree about elite players not wanting to play at **** stadiums. They'll go wherever the money is and won't give hardly any thought to that, I'd wager the training facilities would probably mean more to them than the ground.
Chelsea don't really have a fully modern ground and it's not affected them. Not sure if they've made improvements since Roman bought them?
