The counterargument to this is that rape and sexual assault are extremely difficult to prove in a court of law. And the victim is always at a disadvantage when trying to 'prove' that it happened. To be honest, the fact there's been multiple charges from different women, the fact that the club have gone out their way to suspend him and release a public statement, suggests to me that Mendy isn't innocent. It's also worth bearing in mind that if the court's verdict is he's 'Not Guilty', that doesn't necessarily mean he's 'innocent'. It's far more complex than this.
