After chastening defeats against Liverpool and Man City, we have the chance to get back on track against one of our rivals in the Championship last season. They look good going forward so far this season, but a bit suspect at the back, having just sacrificed a two-goal lead at home to Blackpool in the league.

In theory this should be a chance to blood the new boys, especially Sargent and Tzolis in attack. We desperately need something to cheer us up after a record of 0-8 in our first two league games.

I lived in Bournemouth for four years in the early 2000s. It was becoming rather trendy in those days and people started calling it BoMo. One of my work colleagues was a Bournemouth supporter who was still bitter from the days when we stole all their best players and broke into the top six in the old First Division.

Let's hope we beat them and advance in the EFL Cup. The more games we have for the new players to gel, the better.

I need some help, guys (I knew I was too old and too technophobic for this)

1) How do I get this thread into the top half of the list?
2) How do I get that fancy red thread saying Match Day Thread?

Thanks.

Is there anywhere you haven't lived Gozo? :emoticon-0100-smile

I'd be tempted to go full strength, it seems clear that match fitness and cohesion are lacking.

  • Gunn might get a chance in goal, but Krul still needs to get up to speed.
  • Hanley and Gibson need to rebuild a partnership, and I want to see Gibson and Giannoulis defend that inside left channel better.
  • Aarons I wouldn't mind resting.
  • If Gilmour is going to be our DM, then he should be able to absolute boss a game vs Bournemouth. That's not going to be easy against Pearson and Billing, but if it's a viable tactic, it should work, right?
  • And if Gilmour at DM isn't working, then bring Sorensen on. If we don't trust him in this game, when do we trust him?
  • McLean and Lees-Melou in midfield, I think that's probably what we'll want to play more often than not.
  • Rashica and Pukki need to get on the same wavelength
  • Don't mind if it's Cantwell, Tzolis or Sargent who take the remaining spot.

Hahaha sounds rather silly

Bournemouth was trying to shed its image as pink rinse capital of the world and there were suddenly lots of foreign students studying there. I think BoMo was supposed to trigger thoughts of Soho and terribly trendy young people. It seemed to be aiming to become the new Brighton, but according to my friend who still lives there, it's gone downhill and is now more like the new Southend.

These sorts of names are rich in possibilities. Since most things of any interest here in Norwich are basically found south of the Wensum, those of us who reside in the south of the city might use SoNo to capture the sense of it being the place to live -- in contrast of course to NoNo ........ ;)

The EDP looks at it from the opposite angle.

I'd keep the defence together to have a more positive outcome hopefully and agree about Lees-Melou and McLean in midfield but I'd like to see Sørensen at DM. I'd rest Pukki and play Sargent up front to team with Rashica and either Dowell or Tzolis.

Team news:
-No fresh concerns
-Placheta still suffering with CoVid, hopes to be involved after the international break.
-Zimmerman available
-Tzolis likely to get some minutes. Not sure if he'll start.
-Brandon Williams should get clearance to be involved

Winning any game will boost your confidence. Winning is a habit, just like losing.
1st team to start imo
I don't think we should risk injuries to key players and we also need to build match fitness in those who haven't had full match time so far like Gunn, Zimmerman, Omobamidele, Sørensen, McLean, Dowell, Tzolis, Sargent and Idah. We have a deep squad and we should use it. DF could use this, for example:

Gunn
Mumba Zimmerman Omobamidele Williams
Sørensen McLean
Sargent Dowell Tzolis
Idah
