They're considerably better than almost every team he's faced in the Scottish league.
I've never seen anyone on here rave about Gerrard's achievements so far, just an observation that it's a solid - and necessarily modest - first step to his management career.

I think its only consistent to compare European achievement to measure these managers. It was done with rodgers v Gerrard when Gerrard was being said to be under pressure.

The point being that yes every side he faces in Europe are better than the majority of clubs in Scotland.

They got quite for in the europa last year which was imo his main achievement

This is a big failure now. They were virtually there in the group stages 45mins from it and blew it. Now I think they head for europa again.

Rodgers got judged for it. Gerrard should too.

The group stages were where he could demonstrate tactical ability as his side would be severely outclassed.

Yes, and agree, but the situations were very different. Rodgers had been at several clubs, including two Premier League clubs (one of which he got there) and took over a Celtic team that had won the league several years in a row. Same for Lennon. In his first senior job, Gerrard has led Rangers to their first title in 10 years with an undefeated season. That doesn't mean he's the second coming, but it's a noteworthy accomplishment. Similarly, one bad result doesn't damn him to being "Just another Scottish league standard manager" for all eternity. Maybe he will be, but he's clearly still comparatively young and fairly inexperienced. Let's see how he follows up last season's success, especially if Celtic can put more pressure on this time around.

One match thread for entire season is my vote.

No need to have anything else. No rival fans are turning in each week

True if we win a lot, they appeared from every dark corner possible after Christmas last season!

Although one match thread means a thread ban would be more effective too :)

This is massive though, it impacts financially which is massive enough but it really takes the shine off his prior season
That would only be the case if it was discovered that the team was on peds.

You could have the opinion that he was a one season wonder, which remains to be seen but the drop out of the CL doesn't take anything away from his achievement last season.
