Sounds like we only woke up after going behind .. shame as quite a few lads out there need game Time, but one shot on target whole game not gonna win games. We move on to the important business of the league.

Wigan edged it and deserve to win.
None of the squad players stood out for us and a few poor performances from the usual suspects.
We lack squad depth and losing to the better team on the night who are league 1 showed that.

Saying we lack squad depth is a bit harsh considering both Longman & Williams are out with covid. They'd have both started tonight and have something to prove, as would McLoughlin too. It's far from ideal taking off KLP & Greaves on the hour and Moncur with 15 to go when you're trying to win the game. because we're saving them for the weekend.

Yes, we're light in midfield and could do with an upgrade for Eaves but we all know that.

I actually think midfield is the only place we have strength in depth. As much as I love Huddlestone, if it were between signing him or getting another centre-forward on a free or on loan under the current embargo restrictions, I'd rather we get another CF. I like Magennis but he won't play every league game this season and if he gets crocked, we're knackered.

Listening to McCann's interview tonight and there's no progress on Huddlestone. The longer it goes on, the less likely it seems, especially as he's got other offers. We'd be able to make space in the squad for a loan pretty easily, we'll be able to find Scott a temporary home and it's job done. A permanent signing is a little tougher
