I get why you think this, but he didn't play that often under Emery or Arteta. A lot of his appearances were in the Europa League or domestic cups. He rarely started for us in the league. Whenever he did play, he was always looking to make forward runs into the box and get on the end of any crosses/passes. He's a good ball carrier too. His passing and technique maybe isn't quite up to scratch, which is why Arteta has always been open to selling him, but his energy and understanding of space is an asset. Arsenal fans are quite split on him leaving. Personally, I wouldn't have minded giving him a chance to break into the first team. However, as I said before, we need cash and he's the only one that's generating serious money.
Option A buy for £9m don't receive £6m - bank goes down £9m Option B don't buy but receive £6m - bank goes up £6m Difference in bank £15m - so he would cost us £15m to buy
****s sake, 5.28m is so disappointing. Its like being promised Jennifer Lawrence, but turning up to find ACS writhing around in sexual pleasure on the bed. Like that we may as well not have bothered and just kept him. Adam not ACS.
We seem to do our best business in this 15-25m zone. Wilson, Max, Willock, Almiron - now if we can just do likewise with the defence and central midfield.
