Brilliant reaction from Keely Hodgkinson 19, on winning silver in the 800m in a new British record time and the 8th fastest time ever. Looking at the screen after the finish, clearly saying ‘what the ****!’. Great race, 7 of the 8 runners set personal bests including all 3 Brits.

I was pretty ambivalent about these Olympics when it kicked off, but really getting into it now. Think it was the triathlons, all versions, which warmed it up.

We should have been there watching that ...Stan.

Have promised to take my girl to watch it in Paris.

Hope I live that long!

Well done to you guys.
We both have 15 Gold medals!
However, you do beat us hands down on population of more than double our number.

Good job sheep shagging isn't an Olympic sport, else the kiwis would be well clear of the field

I'd like to see anyone replace the current no:1 listing, just saying.

Your team is doing much better than in recent Olympics, nice one. Shame that the football and rugby teams couldn’t stay sober for the flight home, but presumably they were living it up before the hotel quarantine I assume they have to go into now.

Given that our domination of rowing and the velodrome seems to have come to the end I’m actually surprised how well GB is doing. Can’t see where we are getting a gold in athletics though. Perhaps a freak relay win.

If you were in the US China wouldn’t be top of the table, as they take any measure which favours them and on total medals won USA the is top. If they were leading on golds won I’m sure they would be displaying tables set up to show that .

GB were the best overall in all sailing disciplines.

And here l thought it was the English cricket team arriving early for the Ashes!

Yes, only the Americans can have a World Series amongst themselves.

Well done to Tom Daley getting bronze in the diving. [HASHTAG]#proud[/HASHTAG]

The Chinese bloke that finished 2nd had the right hump with his fellow countryman who got gold... I wouldn't worry as he probably has a good chance for gold in the womens cycling later.

Great performance by Galal Yafai for Olympic flyweight gold.
Talented boxer. It’ll be interesting to see how far that inside boxing will take him when he steps up to pro level.

Good to see China displaced from 1st position, even if it is the good old US of A.
GB is certainly doing well, along with Oz.
NZ, if you look at their population, has also excelled.
If you consider Oz & NZ have populations a lot less than all the other high flyers, combined,
( 17+7=24 gold ) ….. would be in fourth place, just saying.
All in all, it’s been a good games for us all.

Well, that’s it for the Tokyo Olympics, which captured my attention pretty strongly after the first couple of days. Perhaps the reduced TV coverage actually enhanced it, being more focussed. Another incredible showing for Great Britain with two more golds on the last day, same medals total as the home games in London, and spread over more sports as well.

Given the extreme circumstances well done to the Japanese for the organisation.

Quite pleased that it’s only 3 years until the next Olympics.
