Really does make me wonder about our whole marketing team, unless this is another of those covid affected things that couldn’t be confirmed until now because of staffing and supplies?

It's possible that they are short of staff but it's crazy to leave it that late and expect a good turnout for it. Which is a shame as it's a great facility for parents with young kids in attendance. They need to sort this stuff out for the next home game and let people know what's happening as early as possible

You would hope so, It would have been good to have publicised this a couple of weeks back even if they had to give a big 'subject to covid related effects' rider - I'm sure people would have understood.

Exactly another example - the Port Vale streaming passes should be on sale as well but nothing has been said other than the general EFL streaming update. They have missed out on tens of thousands of pounds here, easily.

As its SAFC I expect us to go 1 down prior to a Ross Stewart hat trick and a 3-1 win. Wyke substituted, Max sent off and JJ injured.

Strange choice for ref or has he been relegated as well?

No tickets on sale from the ticket office directly. Online only now, nee cash payments in the SoL.

The Ticket Office will remain open on Saturday from 9am ‘til 3pm, but please be advised that this will be for enquiries only. Tickets will not be on sale on matchday via the Ticket Office and cash turnstiles will also not be in operation, however, supporters wishing to purchase a match ticket on Saturday will be able to do so via our e-ticketing platform.

If you are dropping by the ticket office in-person this week, we ask you to please maintain social distancing and wear a face covering upon entering the building. We would also like to advise you that due to ongoing developments inside the Stadium of Light, the Premier Concourse will be closed on Saturday, meaning the stadium’s home capacity will be capped at 37,500, including hospitality. The Stadium of Light store will also remain closed this weekend due to ongoing operational upgrades at our warehouse, but we hope to reopen it by the start of September.

Sunderland AFC supporters are advised to arrive as early as possible for Saturday’s Sky Bet League One fixture against Wigan Athletic (KO 3pm), with over 30,000 supporters set to attend the Stadium of Light. Almost 18 months have passed since we last welcomed you to the stadium for a league fixture and during that period, we have made substantial operational changes to improve the matchday experience, including a new EPOS system to reduce queues and enhance speed of service, stadium Wi-Fi and a new digital ticketing strategy.

Many of these operational changes will be introduced for the first time this weekend and although we will work hard to ensure they are introduced as seamlessly as possible, we appreciate that changes to operations also mean changes for supporters inside and outside of the stadium.

Ahead of Saturday’s game, we would like to thank you for your continued patience and understanding throughout what has been an incredibly challenging summer, and ask that you continue to work with us to improve and refine your matchday experience, to ensure it is as good as it can possibly be.

What do you class as”older”? I’ll be 46 on Thursday next week and, around the 20th, will celebrate 40 years since my first game (as I was only just 6 can I hell remember the game, just the unbelievable noise from the rocker end!!!). I know @MrRAWhite is a few years older than me but just as optimistic. I’m generally, in life, an optimistic individual. That carries into my football be it supporting SAFC or whichever team my son plays for.

Well I'm late 50s and optimism is just another of the body parts that is beginning to seize up and drop off!

    this is the reason

In the 2017–18 season, Madley was adjudged to be making too many dubious decisions by a number of former Premier League referees including Keith Hackett, Graham Poll and Mark Halsey.[6][7] He quit suddenly in August 2018, when he "decided to relocate due to a change in his personal circumstances", according to a statement by PGMOL.[8][9] He later revealed, in December 2019, that he recorded a video 'mocking' a disabled person and sent it to a friend who subsequently forwarded it to his employers, for which he was dismissed and left the ranks of PGMOL referees.[10][11] He subsequently moved to Norway where he officiated in lower league matches.
In 2019, Madley signed on to referee in the 6-a-side World Cup,[13] explaining how much he enjoyed the 6-a-side football game. He also refereed the 6-a-side World Cup final in Crete in 2019,[14] as Russia beat Poland. He also mentored other referees during the tournament. On 13 February 2020, following discussions with PGMOL, it was announced that Madley would return to refereeing in English football, initially at grassroots level, before joining the National List of referees, enabling him to officiate League One and League Two matches, for the 2020–21 season.

( there’s a lot of support for us from the people of Wakefield so let’s hope he’s got a soft spot for us, lol)
