We might not have any money no (although reports suggest we will spend eventually...) I'm just not buying that "this" is the evidence of that
How much do you reckon compo would have been ffs? Its just yet another story to prove to me even more we have feck all to spend on players
you really are looking at this from a one dimensional view ..ie: he was on trial here so coventry offered more money cos we were 'too tight'...as i have repeated before, there are a thousand reasons for a club not to buy a player when another club will and we do not know any of those reasons. maybe we thought he might be good enough to develop but we were not in dire need of a player in his position so had our valuation, coventry, on the other hand might be wanting to build a squad and looking to the future with it, hence willing to go higher in valuation...things are never as cut and dried as they may at first seem.
1) it was January 2) I don't know? But £5 is too much to pay for a bag of sweets. £200 million is too much to pay for Grealish. £100k is too much to pay for Burge. Whatever this is, was obviously too much for us to want to pay 3) Just because Coventry have decided he's worth it (which might be significantly less now considering its 7 months later) - doesn't mean he's worth it 4) Coventry have a bigger budget than us anyway 5) KLD (even if he was relevant here (he's not) is filthy rich, but the club isn't. And he's trying to run us on an even keel. Other than those 5 points above which I'm going to struggle with anybody arguing with, are you going to just say "FFS its Cork FFS" again?
this has got nothing to do with "our situation" you moron. Going to ask for me to be banned as well? Jesus.
Its Cork mate. You cant tell me that a player from them that has caught the eyes of a Championship club will not be worth more than a Keg of guiness and a few quid in a few years time. We already said we were interested so why not just pay the small compensation fee?
It's not at all obvious that we've got no cash to spend. We've not spent any yet, but that doesn't mean we've got none to spend. If I go down the high-street with £200 looking for a pair of shoes, and I don't find any that I like, it doesn't mean that I didn't have the £20 to buy a pair of plastic trainers from Shoe Zone.
Sheff Wed just made their 9th signing, genuine question I’m not trying to be an arse but is there a deeper reason for us only making 3 signings other than the marker being ‘slow’? League one teams especially seem to be having quite a bit of joy.
1)And?? If Dreyfus was a good buisness man he'd know the ins and outs of whats been going on, seen the Scouting reports and took the spare change out of his pocket to sign a player only 19 that will more than probably have a decent sell on value, considering we were keen in the first place and hes now a league above us. I cant even be arsed answering the rest of your questions tbf.
They've definitely got more money to spend than us from a wage cap perspective as their wage cap is much higher and have just released loads of players on £30k p/w plus. Clearly we could / should have bought more. And I think we are all disappointed. I do think it is partly that some of the players we are after are being held up at premier league / championship clubs waiting for things to start (which Grealish should kick off) But I do also think that we aren't willing to pay the fees / wages that agents and players expect from us, and thats causing an issue There's also of course a chance that not all ducks are in a row back at the ranch. Which is kinda to be expected with everything just being set up - should hopefully improve for future windows? So maybe a combination of those 3?
Haha you are getting your head bit off over a £100,000 player I wanted KLD to buy a complete premier league team, didn’t want to piss about in league 1 or the Championship, I have a feeling I’m not getting what I wanted
