We've drawn the winner of Larne v Pacos de Ferreira, who face each other on the 5th and 12th of August. Larne are from Northern Ireland and finished 4th in their league last season. Pacos are from Portugal and finished 5th. We play whoever gets through on the 19th and 26th of August and the winner of that goes into the group stage.
We're facing the winner of the Pacos de Ferreira (POR) vs Larne (NIR) game. The Icelandic team was just something HBIC was joking about. We'll be away in the first leg, home the second. The winner of our legs (which better be us!) then goes into the group stage and the group stage draw is the 27th August I think but don't hold me to that. It's a little similar to our season last year in the EL where we had to have three qualifiers before the group stages, this time we've just got the one, albeit it's a two-legged one whereas last season they were all single leg ties. EDIT - Just seen PNP has already explained.
Thank you. How many languages did you have to learn to translate UEFA speak into English or should I just admit to being too old and give up? Could I blame it on Brexit?
Pacos de Ferreira have beaten Larne 4-0 in the first leg of their qualifier. Looks like we're facing Portuguese opposition, then.
Indeed. But Kane is in it as are Clarke and Pasotski. Skipp, John and Scarlett are not in it either but can play anyway as they are u21.
