That's from the Athletic today. So it definitely doesn't seem imminent, as much as we'd like it to be. The only two establishments reporting on it - the echo and the Athletic, are both saying there is interest but nothing more. All other articles reference "reports in the north east" - ie the echo.
I wonder who we'd be competing against if it is L1 restricted? Wigan and Ipswich look set up top. Portsmouth possibly but location would count against them and they're working under the same financial constraints as us if that's the issue. Maybe Charlton, maybe Oxford, maybe Wycombe. Actually, on the face of it Rotherham would probably pose the biggest threat to us signing him.
Sheff Wed desperate for a good striker but you'd imagine that's a non-starter. I think Lincoln might be in with a shout for him. But I've also read that their manager likes the idea of him playing under pressure at the SoL.
Aye, I discounted Wednesday! I'm not sure Lincoln could offer him the minutes Sheff United would want with Hopper and the lad they've got from Southampton there.
That's a huge coup isn't it? Or is he not the lad credited with a lot of Norwich's recent recruitment success?
Apparently Rotherham want him, which is basically a 15 minute drive away for him, and despite being local they're barely rivals. Hope we've done enough.
It might not be his decision. It’ll be what Sheff Utd consider is best for his development or most beneficial to them financially. More likely the former. We have lots of advantages in that regard but a few drawbacks too.
The club will accept another clubs offer but still up to the player to agree. If united want h to go to Rotherham for example but he doesn't he stays put. United would then poss look at alternatives if they're keen to send him out.
Jamie Robson - Dundee Utd left back. Know nowt about him but seems to fit bill. https://www.nottheoldfirm.com/news/...for-dundee-united-left-back-jamie-robson/amp/
Wonder where he was on the "shortlist" He's the right age and will have decent experience of Scottish football. Could do worse I suppose but I don't know much of him either.
I still think considering our location, the Scottish market should always be our first port of call. Not the only one obviously. Its just going to be a lot easier to attract a Scottish lad than a Devon lad, for example
This article suggests that Dundee Utd do want to sell him as need funds, but he's one of their better players. You'd think that Lincoln bidding 6 figures would be spread over time. This might be where @Smug in Boots 's hearings about us paying lump sums might come in handy. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport...ws/jamie-robson-wanted-dundee-united-24656529
Remember that deadline day and it appeared we bid for every striker on. L1 before deciding to repeatedly bid on grigg. Parky had a list too it was just ****
