It's a strange one and I'm not sure where we fit in with this. I did think we would spend a little be more money than others due to the wealth of our owners, not stupid amounts by any means though and with a strategic approach and we still mite, even though LJ said we wouldn't be. Ipswich and especially Wigan have surprised me. The latter almost going to the wall 12 months ago now throwing cash around like fun coupons.
That's all he did mate, from the off. The seat change was great and needed doing, but anyone could have done that with the clubs own money. Was too quick to say "yeah, sure" to almost everything. He even saved money on petrol the day he made the first podcast when the lad went and picked him up. lol
There’s a disconnect somewhere. Players are seeking higher wages, clubs are all concerned about the financial repercussions from Covid and looking for value in the transfer market. Seems like a lot of clubs are using the same lines about waiting until later in the window, so there may not be as much value as everyone is hoping for. Hopefully we’ve got our deals lined up really well, so we don’t end up in bidding wars with players over wages.
KLD has his contacts abroad. I'm sure he's boxing clever further afield, as well as in the UK.
Brexit and other current health restrictions may be obstacles.....but he'll be working damn hard behind the scenes, I bet.

I think for now those obstacles will prove too high to overcome. If we get to the PL however thats when we might start to see the "international-ness" of our ownership bear fruit.
Just seems clear he's only willing to invest in off the pitch projects for now to ensure the day-to-day operational expenses at the club are sustainable.
I have every confidence that once everything is sustainable, he'll begin investing capital.
The only nagging doubt is the leaches who own 45% of the club, and how much will there lack of involvement stop him from going all out.

The Liverpool Echo report that talks are ongoing over a potential loan deal, but with a possible permanent transfer also on the agenda as talks continue between the two clubs.
Lee Johnson is keen to add at least one left-back to his side, with Denver Hume yet to re-sign, he only has Tyrese Dyce at his disposal and Dan Neil was utilised as a makeshift left-back during the 4-0 friendly win over Harrogate Town.
Gallacher has made one first team appearance for Liverpool, in their 5-0 League Cup defeat to Aston Villa when Jurgen Klopp’s first team were in Qatar for the Club World Cup, although he also played against Fleetwood and Accrington Stanley in the EFL Trophy during the 19/20 season.

He was on that list over on RTG last week as well.
Clearly something in it, but no indication its close or even that he's our first choice for that position etc
Think the players you have in mind mate won't drop into our division.
Small steps at present, Get a squad to get us up this season and move on to the better quality if we need them.
Got to put our trust in that the club know what they're doing, cos the fans will soon let them know if it goes tits up this season.
I believe we will see many new faces from abroad, way before we reach the Premier League again.
I think it's still possible, either this window, or the January window.
He should have never been used as anything other than cover since the season we had Kaboul and Kone.
But instead we let Kaboul go with no plan to sign a replacement, as far as I remember it came late on leaving no time to sign anyone anyway? Kone downed tools, I think Kaboul helped him look better than he was and he was pissed off he never got a pay rise after Sam left or a move to Everton with a pay rise.
I liked him and couldn't blame him for getting chucked into a **** show in his last few seasons. He always gave 100% and was a success overall imo.

That could be true mate but it looks like the players we are after aren’t over enthusiastic to come until they see if they can get a better offer, which leaves us with players exactly like the ones we don’t want to buy.
