    The irony in here... <laugh>

Plenty on here and about Wijnaldum, even before his contract was reaching an end. Fair enough he's probably not going to read what's on here but then, everyone knows fans on social media are idiots... <whistle>

Gini isn’t having a go at real fans, just the idiots on social media and he’s well within his right to criticise him. I saw that Carra say he should delete the app. The same carra who couldn’t take a bit of banter and spat on a person.

I’m sorry but this is just ignorant. Instead of having a go at the abusers, he focuses on the victim. It’s like me buying a new Rolex, getting mugged but I’m the one in the wrong for attracting attention.

Criticising players on a football forum or Twitter is one thing. Directly messaging or @ said player is another. I would never directly abuse a player like that because they are human beings at the end the day. Of course you’ll have some people think they can say whatever they want to these players because they earn so much money, or they should come off social media. Such an old outdated way of thinking.

Heres the kicker though and they know it.

If they make the sites require id/phone number to sign up then they lose a massive amount of users imho, a massive amount.

Personally thatsbtge reason i dont have facebook anymore, none of my face books ever had my real name and i was asked by tgem to provide government id and change to my real name, easy decision for me = deactivated.

Same goes for insta and twitter if they do the same. Ill bin em off

Also, social media companies already have so much data on us. Do we want to give them our personal IDs as well??

Yeah, I mean we have already been in effect forced into having a clear link between a phone number and a bank account to do online banking for security.

It is a short hop from there to have a big company like Google or Facebook require the same for an email.

The phone number or email links to a real person so i don't see a need to have your real name on your Instagram but in the end this is about traceability and balance free speech with protecting rights.

Having fake accounts is not a freedom. Being able to give an opinion or discuss topics is free speech.

The balance is tough, we have seen for example one of the racist trolls who abused English players fried from his university course when named.

Where is the line between virtue signalling and rightful consequences?

Imo we need governments to sit down and agree all of this together. The western world have allowed this and then **** on China for banned apps and creating their own with controls. I think it's ego and fear of being seen to be controlling that is stopping this being dealt with.

What I can say is if you go on LinkedIn in theory everyone is a real person. It has a huge content of critical mouthpieces and negative people too. Huge amount of self publicisation, huge amount of people being totally negative no matter what they see get employers are watching them.

Imo it shows how controls won't stop idiots being idiots but it should make fakers have a harder time trolling.

I have a minor commercial identity on the internet - it's based on a real world ID I've had since before the web was a thing. Through it I would be easily traceable, but that's the point - if I don't provide identifiable links it's useless.
Anyway, even if the "They" can't find you now, it's only a matter of time...

The point is multi factor identification.

Online banking has farmed out this to phone companies in effect.

If you know the password, username then they send a confirmation to you phone and if its swiped you are in.

If the phone number can be changed on your account too easily then they can empty all your linked accounts.

The social media companies would have to be trusted enough to keep your email, password and phone number safe and not changed.

Can they do it? Just as well as a bank. Better probably.

Would you 100% trust either? I wouldn't either.

Tbf, you may as well attach a £10k wad to your wrist as walk around with a Rolex on. I know that's wrong, and it borders on telling woman not to wear make-up and short skirts, but it is common sense.

Lando norris got beaten up by thugs at Wembley for his mclaren watch.

You might was well start saying don't have a new mobile phone event as they are a 1000 quid in your hand and make you a target.

Really the scum need to be put in their place not allowed off their scummy actions.

Yeah, but a Rolex though. Mobile phones can be disabled. A Rolex is pure cash.

Yes but who really wanders about with being in areas where they could get mugged off unless they are a villian that's well know and feared ;)

    Same as today.

Banking online means all you need is to click that link and they have you.
