    http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/articles/key-not-to-lose-brad-171011.html?

I like to listen to what Brad has to say. On the whole I find the American 'soccer' players over here to be refreshingly articulate and intelligent, and Brad certainly is in that category.

As he rightly says, it was key not to lose.

It's kept us well in contention for fourth spot, which, realistically, is our aim.

ATM we are 5 points up on our corresponding fixtures to last season, though it will be hard to keep that up in our next run of games, as they yielded a stack of points last season. If we're still five points up on last season after our first 12 games, we'll be doing brilliantly.

Man City at home is the only game we haven't equalled or better our result from last season so far so a good start indeed. I'm not Defoe's biggest fan but he scored an excellent goal yesterday and improved our play so he deserves a lot of credit.

Defoes goal was a cracker. Unfortunately Ameobi followed up with one of his own!

The draw was a fair result overall although Defoe really should of squared for parker to make it 3-2

We have some fixtures coming up that we done well in last season and hopefully we will do the same again.

  4. The other thing to bear in mind is that Arsenal are playing dreadfully. Sure, they won at the weekend, but it was at home and against a Sunderland side that didn't field any strikers! Also, 'Pool look like they can be beaten by any side.

It's perhaps not surprising that the Toon are riding so high at the moment. I hope they can keep it up and finish 5th, behind us. I'd much prefer them to get the Europa spot than either of AFC or LFC.

To be honest, I'd have been shocked if he didn't shoot. I was only disappointed that he resorted back to giving it a whack and hoping.

As we saw against Arsenal, Parker isn't the best finisher and Defoe is definitely a better finisher than passer so I think it was the right choice and if he'd been more composed we could have won it. I'd be more critical of Adebayor not spotting Defoe about 5/10mins earlier, Adebayor has shown that he's very aware of Defoe's movement usually and that was more of a chance in my opinion.

It's a tough place to go, SJP. Given the pastings we've suffered up there, Spurs fans should know that more than most.

Like last season it was a creditable draw, though we got the late equaliser that day. Overall, I think both teams played better than in last season's game up there, and it was a better match to watch.

Yeah it was a disapointing shot because any type of hit across the goal would of ended up at Ade's feet if the keeper got a touch on it.

Parker has scored some belters in the past for West Ham so he definately has it in him.

Those strikes tended to be from outside the box where he had a lot of time to size up the shot, whilst it definitely takes skill, hitting a shot first time in the box with players diving to block it takes a different set of skills.
