Very good film IMHO . I think it helps a lot if you know the history of the Tate murders.

Very good film IMHO . I think it helps a lot if you know the history of the Tate murders.
Is that the Manson murders? I only know a little about it tbh. I'm not sure it needed such a long story around it though, much of which seemed like an exploration of cinema at the time.
Having said that, no doubt it was very well made, really top notch tbf and performances made the film.
Loved the clear nods to the TV and films of the era including spaghetti westerns, and the way they wove the characters in with the actors of the time.

Yes . The ending was nothing like reality in a BIG way
Just read up on it. Incredibly horrific stuff. The film is so close to real events and individuals, it adds a lot tbf.
I can imagine if you knew the true story and you're watching the film for the first time you're expecting something entirely different building up to the climax but then Tarantino throws a curve ball.

I watched it again a month ago. Superb stuff.
You expect a different film as it's Tarantino. Go back and watch again without the expectation. It's a superb film. Sit back and let it be what it is. Modern classic.I'm guessing it didn't turn out the same way as the film. Have to say that was both tense and funny as fck
I don't think that was it. Every scene individually was great. Really good cinematography, high end crisp performances especially by Brad Pitt imo. But as a whole I didn't see where it was going, apart from the aging actor having to face the fact his best days are behind him and the golden age of cinema is changing around him (as is America as well e.g. the hippies, Polanski etc).
I get it a bit more now with the whole Manson stuff though.
