In the summer love I to come ‘home’ to South Shields to escape the heat and humidity of North Carolina. It’s great to be able to visit the beautiful coastline from Yorkshire up to Berwick. Have a few days in Northumberland or the Yorkshire dales and moors too.
In winter I love the Algarve, beautiful coastline, lovely weather, great food, favourite wines, very cheap, and not full of drunken Brits.

Thailand, amazing place, cheap as chips, great food, great golf, unbelievable hotels and according to a few in my golfing group, the entertainment isn't the worst either.

Koh Samui is my 2nd favourite place to holiday. Not quite the hustle and bustle of mainland Thailand or the pressure to buy of Phuket.

Jamaica for me. Love the people and their attitude. Really beautiful place too. I love Negril and an evening at Rick's cafe is great fun. We are planning a trip there again in 2022. Went for New Year years ago and it was a fantastic time, beach parties, music, rum - marvellous.

Went to Sorrento for my 60th in 2019.
Loved it - so close to the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Aisha etc etc.
Went in August so too hot really, but we went 5Star and really pushed the boat out.
Probably my best holiday & destination, but when I return it’ll be June or September.
Before that I thought nothing beat The Cote D’Azure - Ste Maxime, St Tropez. Here is where you’ll have the best dining experience.

The world is too big to keep going back to the same place. At the moment the favourite is Barbados, I think I may have just had a bad experience with Jamaica cos everyone says it’s fantastic, my trip couldn’t be described as that. St Lucia in September, COVID permitting, as this missus is a bit of a holiday snob

Funchal, Madeira for Me and Mrs. Enjoyed 5 consequtive years between 2014 - 2019. Stayed in the Porto Santa Maria Hotel in Funchal on each occasion. Easy walking distance for local bars and restaurants

Its relatively quiet and civilised, no groups of rowdy piss artists. Coffin dodgers like ourselves formed a good part of tourists

The furthest we travelled from hotel was about a mile. Couldn't be arsed to travel around sight seeing and was not seeking excitement. Just chilling out

Suited us both, not suitable if you are looking to partying into night or looking for something to shag

Beach is all pebbles though. But hotel was perfectly adequate for our sun bathing requirements

Locals dead friendly

Pre kids me and the mrs went to Malta. Loved it.
Got family in Malta, they live in Rabat but move down to the coast from may til October, this was our go-to plan for as soon as Covid plans were relaxed, but its canny strict over there, so I think it'll be next year, gutted.

I've been to Possitano, just down the coast from Sorrento. Amazing place. Especially liked the boat trips on the Amalfi coast and the trip to Pompeii

Think we stayed in Buggiba but got round most of the island when we were there. The yellow buses were still going strong at the time. Some amazing beaches up to the north.

For Cities I would pick Copenhagen. Just love that city.

I will be honest and say I don't mind France for a driving break in a nice cottage

Red lion in Buggiba will put on any game you ask for if your buying beer, I remember being sat in among loads of different fans from all over watching their games, and only me sat watching ' my telly' with Sunderland on, luckily I had my '**** you' attitude on and had a great time, lovely pub.
