Haven't had it for ages but I like it. I prefer Double Maxim though (genuinely not because of the Newcastle/Sunderland links)
I had it for the first time last week, it was alright, but I woke up the next morning in bed with a blonde lass called Amanda, she was going on about how some football association is stopping the region from being invested in, she was a proper nutter; even lied about being on the phone to talk sport.

Its a decent drink. If you decide to try it ask for a half pint glass rather than a pint to keep topping it up and keep a head on it
Brown ale is a fab drink and if you want to p*ss in ya wardrobe this is the beer to drink.
I do however prefer Maxim although it is getting a bit too strong for me now.

Yeah mate, double maxim doesn't call for gravy in the recipe, Geordies call us crazy but you can really taste the difference.

Remember the rule being that it should be a schooner, rather than a 1/2 glass ?
Ask for that now with the young barstaff and you would think you had grew another head with the looks you get off them.
In Dallas I informed the waiting staff that I lived near the brewery. ( 10 miles of course to them is touching distance.) Enjoyed the VIP treatment which followed, but didn't have the heart to tell them that a wedge of lime stuck in the bottle was really not necessary !

Don't start on Australian measures. They manage to have a couple of different pint sizes. When a pint is a specific measure in itself. They have more than one pint size.
It's clear it wasn't our mathematicians and academics we sent over here in the 18th century.
