Sometimes I feel like I've got the plague when I start chatting about disasters. Everyone's heads go in their hands and its noooooo......problem is insecure events such as Sunday have consequences, as Maguire highlighted about his father.

massive difference between a dark tunnel and having someone to point to the side pens down routes ( as per match day plan ) which were difficult to spot and people in a main concourse overwhelming security .

Not really, not if it still involves injury. It dosen't matter at all the difference in the circumstances, maybe you turn a blind eye to it, but Maguires dad got injured, I've seen several other people's witness accounts of events as well, and the fear for their families. It's rushing that causes major incidents and stampedes. People couldn't even sit and were blocking concourses, and they were the people that actually had tickets - all because their way was blocked by ticketless fans.

should have done what Yorkshire CC did to stop streakers one year which was employ a Rugby League club to stop them . Funny as **** watching drunks take 2 steps on outfield before some 15 stone forward crashed him to the ground .

No mate, you were making some sort of special status. I merely highlighted the Taylor report which was meant to guide on preventing future incidents, both of which I gave you the appropriate wording for from past to present.

19 coppers were injured on Sunday, I'd call that serious cause for concern, one that will probably lose us our bids to stage future World Cups. Unprecedented public disorder... https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...edented-public-disorder-at-euro-final-says-fa

Imagine a terrorist had got in to Wembley on Sunday, and don't say that's daft, coppers that went for their kebabs at the Manchester Arena bombings, also probably thought it was daft that anything would happen, hence why they disappeared for 2 hours and 9 minutes.

    I'm not surprised and there needs to be common sense used if only a few hundred are travelling and they are in a section that accomodates thousands. But the situation we are talking about is Wembley, where it was a sell out based on covid restrictions, not sure the exact number but I'll assume 60,000. I would say that falls under the Taylor report that states the following;

The Taylor Report put forward 76 recommendations, including that all major stadiums should become all-seater venues and all spectators should be allocated a seat. The recommendations were passed into law, bringing an end to standing and radically re-shaping stadium design and the fan experience within English football.

This. You can see people still trying to have little digs and dress it up as something else. Brb was factual and trying to point out how there are still issues that need dealing with, others at times are less factual and try to make a point that shows a lack of knowledge and lack of intelligence.

Stewards gave up the covid checks because there were too many people in that section, they also got through two turnstiles one of them a disabled entrance. There's plenty of footage of them entering via C10. Eye witnessses have given plenty of accounts of ticketless fans INSIDE the stadium.

I know it's the SUN but it's only 3.5 mins, or you can skip straight to 1.56 secs to listen to their account inside the ground...

A lot of people just don't seem to respect law and order.

I don't like too much government control but it does seem there are not enough police about - too man cuts.

Hiring security firms at minimum wage doesn't really cut it either.

Who's wants to get their head kicked in for £8 an hour?

I agree, but as I understand it from experience at supporting my own club, the police or the governing authorities have the final say. So if an event is not policed adequately enough, the event can be called off (I'm talking about proper policing here). A decision should have been made prior to the game what resources were required.

So say for example and this can be any individual game, my club says you need x y z to police the event, the authorities can then govern if that xyz is enough, if not, you will be told what you do need, and failure to comply can result in the event not going ahead.

Now we all knew this was our biggest game in 55 years, we all knew everyone of the 60,000 would have to pass a covid check, it was pretty obvious on Sunday at 8pm KO time, that everyone was going to be pi55ed out of their skull.

The police had said prior to the game, anyone without tickets should stay away. But it wasn't rocket science on a Sunday afternoon that people were going to ignore that request in our Capital City, they would have needed to use public transport to get to the City or to Wembley, what measures were put in place to guage what was occurring.

Yet loads of people got into an area they should never have been, and the police claim they did nothing wrong, what exactly did they think was going to happen with a load of young brits pi55ed. It was obvious more people wanted to see the event than there were tickets, everyone wanted to be there.

In short their operation failed, it then got to a stage where it was safer to leave the ticketless fans in the ground, rather than cancel the game and cause more chaos and potential trouble as a result.

The good news is those coppers won't be troubled next time, because we won't be allowed another event of this scale once this lot has been gone over.

As most the country know, it's not the first time the police have failed to manage a large event properly, with disastrous consequences. That may be due to resources, then that's what they need to be standing up and saying. If you haven't got the resources, you cancel the event.

    Completely agree.

My point was that once fans overran the covid checks and ticket check points, they still had to get through a turnstile to enter the ground.

They got through far more than the disabled entrance, fans were trying to bunk in through turnstiles into tier 1, tier 5, club wembley but that wasn't all filmed. I was there.

A lot of tthe filming of jibbing Wembley showed fans breaking through the outer rings of security, they still had to get through turnstiles (the hard part)

The only good footage I have seen of lots of fans bunking into the ground centrered around the disabled entrances.

But fans were trying from all angles that weren't filmed

Money talks, Wembley will carry on staging events.

And if FIFA are given enough financial incentive, they won't give a toss about Euro 2020
