You need to keep your bullsh*t consistent. There is no long term health data available about the influenza vaccine that is modified and administered every winter, other than its poor efficacy. Is there any evidence that you have been grumbling about that for years before 2020?
People have to socially distance at funerals as well as at almost any other form of gathering. The elderly (that would be “folk who were at the end of their lives”) being denied visits by those most likely to give them a fatal dose of the plague clearly should be allowed to die, along with anyone else that can be infected. If I could kill off both my elderly parents, I could part inherit two houses. Those bastards at the WEF are denying me an inheritance tax bill.
On planet Zog you clearly have not seen any of those protests, mandated or otherwise, that have taken place.

Difficult to see what this has to do with the plague but it is the Garuniad so no logic expected.
It is unclear how long the author of the original article, Laura Spinney, has been blind. She correctly identifies that in the last century life expectancy has increased but neglected to mention that health expectancy has not kept pace, so somebody is needed to look after the increasing numbers of the elderly. The world population is not increasing because of too many births but too few deaths.
Woolly-minded liberals writing to the Garuniad to extol Costa Rica as a happy country with a declining birth rate are ignoring that just 8 per cent of the 5 million population are over the age of 64 (UK 18 per cent), the median age is 31 (UK 41) and youth unemployment is 20 per cent (UK 14 per cent).
The French have always had a problem with being told what to do by the authorities. That is why they are always out on the streets protesting. Even before the plague, the anti-vaxx rate in France was high.
Of course then, for political expediency, President Macron cast doubt on the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine resulting in even more hesitancy amongst the French people. Had the science been conducted in Stockholm rather than Oxford, perhaps he would have reserved his unfounded scepticism.
Macron is clearly deluded if he thinks that making vaccination mandatory is going to work. With an election next year, it is probably political suicide.

I now feel obliged to hoy this one in: Those that don't believe that this is a DEADLY DISEASE that is seeing people drop like flies AT ANY AGE - not just the elderly, will be able to look at excess deaths. That will be the true measure. Do we remember those statements? How many excess deaths have there been? *clue* None. You have been terrified into hiding away for a bit of a bad chest that is only dangerous to the elderly and unwell. Fannies.
